Diamond Select Toys is tempting me with their pics of the upcoming Barbarian Hulk and Storm figures.
I’m not sure where Barbarian Hulk is from in the comics, but the combination of those two words could produce some pretty kick ass stories. I’ve resigned myself that DST will be forever hamstrung by the articulation limits, so I don’t count that against this Hulk – but I do think his head might have turned out a bit too small in production.
(You can see more of the Barbarian Hulk at DST’s Marvel Select Barbarian Hulk album on Facebook.)
The X-Men’s Storm, however, looks pretty awesome. If I wasn’t so hung up on the scale differences with Marvel Legends, I would pick her up. And with each new Danger Room diorama piece they make, I feel more and more compelled to pick up the backgrounds for use with my Marvel Universe X-Men.

The proportions of Barbarian Hulk is just too weird for me. Not only is the head too small, but it sits too high as well. Just looking at the position of his shoulders to his chin, how long would his neck have to be? I know you want to give Hulk some huge trapezius muscles, but you just have to make the head sit lower on the body.
On top of that, his articulation just looks bizarre. They did make a great Avengers movie Hulk, though; so I know they can do it.
