SDCC 2015: Funko Exclusives Reveals Week 3 of 3

SDCC 2015 Funko Exclusives Reveals Week 3 of 3

Here’s the third batch of announcements from Funko’s SDCC exclusives. They span their Dorbz, Hikari, Pop, ReAction, and Vinyl Idolz product lines, and covers their DC, Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, Hanna Barbera, and Ghostbusters licenses… just to name a few!

Funko also announced a signing with Hannibal executive producer Bryan Fuller:

We are thrilled to announce our Bryan Fuller Pop! figure! The man behind Hannibal bears an eerie resemblance to Hannibal Lector!

This Pop! comes in a run of 144 pieces and will be available during his signing at the Funko booth on Friday, July 10th at 2 p.m.! The line for our Bryan Fuller signing will not begin to form before 1 p.m. and we will only sell Bryan Fuller Pop!s during the signing. We will not sell other Funko items during that time!

While we were expecting just three batches of announcements, maybe Funko will have a final one before the show. Stay tuned!

Weekend Toy Run: Pre-Order the Marvel Select Ant-Man Unmasked Exclusive

Marvel Select Ant-Man unmasked exclusive

We’re three weeks away from the opening of Ant-Man, and the hype machine is in full effect with a ton of media coverage, including a fourth TV spot, “Become the Hero.”  And while we’ve seen a bunch of Ant-Man toys up for pre-order, we haven’t seen one with Paul Rudd’s likeness on it – until now.

The unmasked version of the Marvel Select Ant-Man is available to pre-order now. Like the more widespread release, the 7-inch figure will come with his masked head, 3 pairs of interchangeable hands, and a 1.5-inch Ant-Man, but the unmasked Paul Rudd head will be exclusive to Marvel / Disney stores and will be featured on the figure in package. And bonus – it’s due to be released by the movie opening date of July 17.

SDCC 2015 Funko Exclusives Reveals Week 2 of 3

Here’s the second batch of announcements from Funko’s SDCC exclusives. They span their Dorbz, Hikari, Pop, and ReAction product lines, and covers their Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, Hanna Barbera, and DC licenses… just to name a few!

Unlike previous years, Funko is not offering the option to pre-order.

We should have one more update with more Funko exclusives before the big show.

Weekend Toy Run: Pre-Order the Marvel Legends Rhino Wave at Entertainment Earth

Marvel Legends Rhino wave

Generally, I prefer having the option to order Marvel Legends figures individually, so I’ve been waiting for the Rhino wave to show up on Amazon, like the Marvel Legends Ant-Man / Ultron wave did a couple weeks ago – but inexplicably it hasn’t yet. So I am doing the next best thing – I’m pre-ordering a case of the Marvel Legends Rhino wave at Entertainment Earth for $159.99 with free shipping. That will leave me with a duplicate Scarlet Spider to give away.

There are other options: you could pre-order the Rhino case or a seven figure set (no dupes) from BigBadToyStore. The case costs the same as EE, but shipping is extra. And the seven figure set only saves you $5 at $154.99 – and again you pay shipping. The math there doesn’t make sense to me.

Toys R Us also has the Rhino wave up for pre-order – they currently show up first when you search for Marvel Legends on the TRU site. While you can pre-order the figures individually, they’re $21.99 each – for all seven you’d be at $153.93 (with free shipping, though) so to me it really only makes sense if you’re going to cherry-pick the wave.
