Here’s the latest Q&A from the Hasbro Marvel team. Thanks guys!
There’s some promising tidbits about Marvel figures in the 6-inch scale. We did have some questions about Marvel Universe, but they limited their answers to our first three questions.
1. There are a lot of Marvel Legends prototypes that have been developed by Hasbro over the years (mostly shown for “poll” purposes) that as of yet don’t seem to have a planned release. Are these poll non-winners off of the table (aside from whatever three make the cut in addition to the fan choice voting)? What would be the most effective way for fans and collectors to let it be known that they want to see these figures produced? And when will you be sharing the Hasbro picks for the upcoming 2-packs?
All of the figures shown could be used for potential future releases, so they are not off the table. Fans can let us know character preference via the boards or sites by publishing a ranking of these characters. This could help to inform future development. The 2 packs are planned to be revealed in early 2010.
2. What are the chances that the 6-inch Crimson Dynamo and Titanium Man could somehow be rolled into the Marvel Legends 2-pack release format – for example, one or the other packed with an Extremis or Armor Wars Iron Man (perhaps even timed to tie-in with the IM2 movie or DVD release)? Or why not release them as a 2-pack together?
We do have plans to release both Crimson Dynamo and Titanium Man, but are not yet ready to announce timing. We know these are fan favorites, so stay tuned.
3. There are some 3.75-inch figures coming out in the Marvel Universe, Iron Man 2, and Spider-Man lines (like Extremis Iron Man and Ultron), that have long been sought in 6-inch form. Will the production and hopeful success of such characters in this scale improve their chances to be produced in Marvel Legends?
All of the Marvel Characters, especially those not previously released in the 6 scale, are considered for future release.
