When I win the lottery, I’ll buy every action figure I want. For now, these ones were Left on the Shelves.
In this edition, Hasbro Iron Man 2 6-Inch Exclusives, McFarlane Playmakers, and NECA Clash of the Titans.
Hasbro Iron Man 2 Mission Tech Armor (Toys R Us Exclusive)
I’m glad Hasbro is continuing to make 6-inch Iron Man figures. But as much as these are great repaints of older figures, I’m left wondering if they’ll make the Mark IV, V, and VI armors in this scale.
McFarlane Playmakers – Josh Becket and Alex Rodriguez
Don’t hate me because I find baseball a little dull. These looked pretty good in package, but separate figures for hitting and fielding for a single player still seems gratuitous.
NECA Clash of the Titans Perseus
I can’t get motivated enough to see the movie, so I probably won’t be getting this figure either. If it had come with a chopped-off Medusa head, I’d have a tough time exercising my constraint.
All these items are currently in stock at toysrus.com: Iron Man 2 3-pack, Playmakers, and Clash of the Titans Perseus. Thanks for looking!
I bought the Perseus figure a couple of weeks ago and reviewed it. It’s definitely better than the movie and has a surprising amount of well-hidden articulation.
Sorry to disagree with you, but I love the Playmaker series, and I’m not even that much of a sports fan (figure or otherwise). IMHO these are just great- highly articulated (20+ points, as the package states), great likenesses, and just fun/fun/fun!
Walmart has the exclusive on the 6″ Iron Man 2 movie series. I don’t think they’re making the Mark V suitcase armor, but they’re supposed to be releasing a War Machine and a Mark VI. They don’t seem to have hit shelves yet.
Lemon Juice – I read your review, and may have to pick up a Perseus – maybe if he goes on sale. your pics are helping to sell it.
Stygian, I think the Playmaker figures are fine – I just think they should have included heads and hands that let you have both batting and fielding versions in one package, instead of making you buy two figures of the same player.
I can’t believe NECA had the Clash of the Titans licence and didn’t produce any of the monsters? No Medusa, no Calibos, imagine a toy of the black Pegasus? How cool would that have been?
What is wrong with that company? They have almost ZERO imagination! Sometimes I think they only put out stuff that’s been done before in one way or another, like Nightmare on Elm Street, Evil Dead, and don’t get me started on the endless Predators.
