When Buzzy Fret reviewed DC Universe Classics Wave 13, he got the Negative Man variant in his set, so I’m completing that review with some pics of the regular version of Negative Man.
In package, Negative Man is probably my favorite of wave 13. I’m not a fan of action poses in package because it promotes limb warpage, but Larry’s got a nice powerful-looking stance and it shows off the figure well. Out of package he’s a striking figure too. The paint is simple but well-executed – the lines are nice and crisp. And the new sculpted elements here, the bandaged head and hands (two sculpted fists) look great.
All the articulation is functional, with the exception of his neck. I can’t tell if Mattel fixed the anchored peg in the neck that restricts up and down movement, but the sculpted bandages on his neck stop it anyways. Other than that, I had no problems at all with the joints. They’re all sturdy and none were stuck.
I see what you did there!
ha! to me my… um… Doom Patrol… men…
