Ohhhhh yeahhhhh!
Mattel held its WWE panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, and there were a couple of big surprises. We caught the bulk of the announcements on video after getting the green light to tape after first being told not to.
Biggest highlights for me:
- Mr. Perfect and Ultimate Warrior joining the Classics line. Warrior was the superstar whom Mattel referenced back at Toy Fair as being in the works but having to push his release
- Savage! Macho Man Randy Savage will kick off a new WWE line extension, Defining Moments, in January 2011. With 2 figures due every other month, I am wondering if these will be 2-packs. If so, then I am guessing we’ll get a Savage and Ultimate Warrior 2-pack based on their classic match at Wrestlemania VII.
WWE superstars the Miz and Eve were also on hand for an entertaining Q&A, along with head writers and Mattel designers. I’ll see if I can publish video of that at soon.
We’ll head back to the Mattel booth today to get more pictures.
