Mattel has taken their first step into the production of full scale movie replicas with this amazing piece from Ghostbusters.
The PKE Meter comes in the typical Matty Collector white mailer box with the Ghostbusters logo. Once removed from that, you have an amazing display box that looks like a wood crate sent from the Ghostbusters themselves! There are many fake markings and details all over the crate, as well as packing peanuts inside to keep the PKE Meter safe.
Once you have freed the meter from its “wooden” prison, you have an amazingly accurate replica prop from the films. It has several different light modes and 3 different wing positions as shown above.
There are 2 positions of lights on the main display to make the pattern change, and an off position. The little buttons control the wing positions half, full or all the way down. A small dial on the back controls the speed of the lights and sounds.
In short, this thing is amazing. I have been building up a Ghostbuster costume and proton pack for a few years and this is a great addition. But even if you are not into costuming, this thing is really fun to just run around with and annoy your friends. They are now sold out at Matty Collector, but chances are they will be back in some form, and hopefully next year we will get another prop, like the Ecto Goggles or Ghost Trap. Keep Bustin!
