Continuing my current interest on the latest Transformers releases, here are some pics of Transformers Reveal the Shield Wreck-Gar!

I love the sculpt of his ‘bot mode. His asymmetrical design is a welcome sight in my Transformers collection. I love the wheels hanging on the left side of his body (his left!).

His headsculpt has that comic smile that fits his character. The clear white plastic parts in his head illuminate the borders of his eyes, which is kinda weird that they just didn’t cover his eyes with clear orange plastic.

Some might not like that his back view is studded with screws, but I don’t mind so much, something’s gotta hold everything in place right?

I also like his color scheme, the different shades of yellow and orange make for an interesting design, then you got the flames for some detail. It’s not accurate to his cartoon look, but I still dig it.

His axe can be worn on his back.

Size comparisons

From his preview pics I thought he’d be a little bit taller than the others, but he’s pretty much even in height with the latest releases.

Motorcycle mode

His transformation can be a little confusing midway, especially where the arms and legs fold in, but everything pretty much attaches into place in the end.

His axe serves as his exhaust in vehicle mode.

Vehicle size comparison

At first I thought Wreck-Gar had the problem of being a big robot that transforms into a smaller vehicle, but then I realized that the Junkions rode each other when they are in vehicle mode, so I guess he’s pretty much the right size!

Articulation

Wreck’s bot mode has some great articulation. Aside from some restricted head movement, I really have no complaints with his articulation.

I’m glad Hasbro has been releasing some Transformers Animated Movie characters, that movie holds a special place in my geek heart.

I found Wreck-Gar here in my local Target for $11.99. Some Target branches have him at $13.99. I also saw him at Toys ‘R’ Us also for $11.99 (they currently have a $7.99 sale ending March 5th).

Stay tuned for some more Transformers pics! My short toy attention span has me currently picking up some latest Generations and Reveal the Shield Transformers!

Thanks for looking and I hope you all enjoyed the pics!

  1. Loving these Generations toys as well and glad to see some love being given here! No complaints about Wreck-Gar or any of the other Generations toys thus far. Weeeelll except for perhaps some of the more lazy choices, such as Jet Pack Bumblebee and sword-wielding Optimus Prime. I could have done without those two specifically, but everything else is top notch.

  2. Yeah Hasbro seems to be making a concerted effort to release some movie characters between Generations and RTS!
I am happy about the Bumblebee reissue as I missed out on him the first time around!

  3. Why does everybody mis-transforms his right foot? It’s supposed to be turned around so both feet look the same. Otherwise great pics.

  4. The most amazing thing about this guy is the little things they did to help him ride himself, the crotch pegs into the seat and the left leg pegs into the chain area, it was designed so he could ride junkions!
