At Hasbro’s special preview night, we saw a few figures from both the 6-inch Avengers line and the 3.75-inch Avengers line. At the official NYCC preview night, Hasbro had more of both on display. I think both lines are looking really good. For the recent Marvel movies, I’ve only picked up a couple of the Iron Man figures – these have me thinking about building out a full movie collection.
Avengers 6-Inch Line
We saw Cap, Loki, and Hawkeye at Hasbro’s preview event, so Thor was the new 6-incher on display in Hasbro’s booth. I think he’s just as good as the others in terms of sculpt, likeness, and articulation. Hopefully we’ll see a movie Black Widow and Hulk in 6-inches soon.
One small correction to the information Hagop got the other night – the Avengers movie figures will have their own line at retail – they will not be included in the Marvel Legends line. We’re still in October, when the big box buyers are meeting with the big toy manufacturers like Hasbro and Mattel to plan out their 2012 buys, so I suspect we may see additional clarifications as those plans get solidified.
Avengers 3.75-Inch Figures
Hasbro had the 3.75-inch Hulk on display at the start of preview night, but by the end of the evening it had mysteriously vanished. I think Hulk looks great. Another notable inclusion in this case was a stealth deco Iron Man.
The big 3 (Iron Man, Cap, and Thor) had some accessories at their feet, while Black Widow, Hulk, and Hawkeye did not. I suspect like the recent movie lines, we’ll see figures with accessories with action features, as well as basic and deluxe packs. More info to come at the Hasbro Marvel panel on Saturday.
