This week, I noticed a lot of auctions for Marvel Legends customs of Marvel’s mutants. Some are glaring omissions in the line while some are updates with new looks – what’s clear is that beyond the Wolverine Legends line that was introduced at Toy Fair, there’s an untapped demand that Hasbro could satisfy with more children of the atom.
Marvel Legends Gladiator by Cal – alright, so maybe Gladiator from the Shi’ar Empire isn’t actually a mutant, but since he has played a big supporting role in many of the best X-Men stories, I think he counts – what do you think of the Hyperion / Sentry base for him? – ends Mar 20, 2013 18:10:02 PDT
In AFP’s Border Patrol, we scour active eBay auctions for customized action figures that you won’t want to let slip by! (A power outage at our host delayed the publishing of this week’s edition.)
- Marvel Legends Angel by glennwebman69 – Archangel is getting a lot of love from Hasbro, but the original high-flying Angel hasn’t had a figure since way back during Toy Biz’s run – ends Mar 24, 2013 18:09:54 PDT
- Marvel Legends Meggan by magentastraberry – this shapeshifter from Captain Britain and Excalibur is long overdue, although I’d prefer the tan costume with the big poofy collar – ends Mar 21, 2013 15:12:11 PDT
- Marvel Legends Polaris by nartardee – once again, Polaris topped the latest Marvel Legends Top Ten at Fwoosh – when will Hasbro finally deliver? – ends Mar 21, 2013 10:23:12 PDT
- Marvel Legends Storm by comedianviet – maybe Marvel thought Storm was too tied down by her marriage to Black Panther, so they freed her up and gave her back her mohawk for her current gig in Uncanny X-Force – ends Mar 20, 2013 18:36:39 PDT
