I have a bias for super-articulated figures, so for the DC Comics brand, I tend to favor Mattel’s DC Universe Classics line over similar offerings from DC Direct / DC Collectibles. But one thing I do concede – DCD dives a lot deeper into the comics world for their character selection. Here’s eight crazy deals on DCD figures that you will probably never see offered in the DC Universe Classics line. The first four are Prime, which means free 2-day shipping if you’re a member, or if you spend over $25 if you are not:
- DC Direct Blackest Night: Series 7: Black Lantern Terra with Scar Action Figure – $6.40 (Prime) – I’d pay more for just a Scar figure, so getting Terra at this price is a bonus
- DC Direct Green Lantern Series 4: Green Lantern Hal Jordan (Power Glow) Action Figure – $7.95 (Prime) – Hal Jordan has been done in DCUC, but I don’t think we’ll ever get a translucent green comic book version
- DC Direct Batman Incorporated: Batman: Man of Bats Action Figure – $9.95 (Prime) – I have a hardcover collection of Batman stories that featured the original Man of Bats comic, so I’ll be glad to have him
- DC Direct Green Lantern Series 4: Arkkis Chummuk Action Figure -$11.95 (Prime) – I used the head from this figure for a DC Universe Classics Arkkis Chummuck custom
These four figures aren’t Prime, but even with shipping are tremendous steals!
- Justice Society of America: Series 2: Cyclone Action Figure – $2.00! – she was a big piece of the JSA youth movement, but I don’t see her making it in DCUC
- DC Direct Blackest Night: Series 6: Black Lantern Hawkgirl Action Figure – $3.60 – I thought the deaths of Hawkman and Hawkgirl were done just so there’d be more key Black Lanterns, and everyone knew they’d be back
- DC Direct Brightest Day: Series 3: Aqualad Action Figure – $5.99 – did Aqualad make it to the New 52?
- DC Direct Batman Incorporated: Batman: Knight Action Figure – $8.99 – Knight is one of the better executed figures from the Batman Incorporated line-up (that’s a pun for those of you up on the latest in the comics…)
Happy shopping!
