I got my first look at the 1/12 scale diecast Iron Man figures from Play Imaginative’s Super Alloy line at San Diego Comic-Con – but as they were all under plexiglass displays, there was no knowing how these bad boys will be articulated. With these pictures and video of a test shot (the blue pieces are diecast), it looks like they’ll move pretty well.
I’m not that big a fan of the huge knee joints, but it’s something I’ve become accustomed to with Square Enix figures. And they didn’t really show the head moving that much – if Iron Man can’t look up all that much, then a lot of the standard flying poses will look a little odd. Other than that, I am impressed with the articulation setup on these figures.
Lots of fans have been asking to see the articulation of our new 1/12 Scale Super Alloy Collectible Figures, so here’s a preview showing the extent of articulation in the figure joints.
The figure shown is a test-shot – meaning it’s straight from the mould, and without any paintwork or detailing – and the figure is incomplete at the moment.
The exterior of the figure is made of at least 70% die-cast metal, as highlighted by the blue parts on the figure.
