SDCC 2010 & 2008 MIGHTY MUGGS Iron Men!

Hasbro Marvel Mighty Muggs! They’re cute, beautifully detailed with sharp paint apps and remind me of SouthPark for some reason. I haven’t been sucked into rabid MU MM collecting, but I picked up my first at SDCC in 2008 – the Mark III from the first Iron Man movie (more on that in a bit). So, I had to get one of the SDCC 2010 Mark VI figures from the sequel. (My wife loves it when I say I *have* to get something.) I figure they’ll make great bookends for my Iron Man TPBs.

Best of San Diego Comic-Con 2010 – Buzzy Fret

There was so much cool stuff revealed at SDCC 2010 it almost makes me cry when I think of how broke I’m going to be this next coming year. Mattel, for one, is really gonna give my wallet a pounding. Even though so much cool new stuff was shown, it wasn’t hard for me to pick my “Top Three Best from SDCC”.

3) The Four Horsemen’s new Symbiotech line!

These immediately grabbed my attention with the first pic Ron posted of the Tygos & Tygolith prototypes. I’m normally not a fan of 4″ action figure lines but a line designed by The 4H with cool anthropomorphic  4″ characters coupled with huge and equally cool looking anthropomorphic characters = WIN! Can’t wait to hear more updates about Symbiotech from the Horsemen.

San Diego Comic-Con 2010 Most Wanted – Buzzy Fret

Damn, how I wish I was going to SDCC! I’ve been the past 3 years and it was a blast every time! Alas, my situation is such that I am unable to attend this year.

The Venture Bros. (Bif Bang Pow!)

I’m very intrigued to see what Bif Bang Pow! has in store for The Venture Bros. line. I’m a big fan of the show and was very excited earlier in the year when I heard they had gotten the license to the characters and were making articulated action figures of Rusty, Brock, The Monarch and Dean. Unfortunately the pics of the early prototypes left me more than a little cold. But they were “early” prototype pics, so I’m hoping that BBP! has tweaked the designs to bring the figures more in line with the art of the show. The pics of the SDCC Exclusives of Monarch’s minions (they like that better than “henchmen”), 21 and 24 have given me reason to believe that BBP! has done so. The fact that 21 and 24 are SDCC Exclusives is just another dagger of regret in my heart from not being able to jet out to the left coast this year.
