Masters of the Universe Classics Battle Cat

Mattel’s Masters of the Universe Classics keep cranking out some awesome figures, and today we’re taking a look at one of the most anticipated Masters of the Universe figures of the year – Battle Cat! Ordering issues aside (more on that later), this release is one of the best, if not the best, figures in the line! The first “giant beast” of the line, Battle Cat is about 12 inches long from head to tail and he stands about 5 inches from his paws to the highest point in his back. He’s a pretty good sized figure and worth the money paid ($30) if you’re a fan of Masters of the Universe toyline.

Hasbro 3.75-Inch Iron Man 2 Concept Series – Hypervelocity Iron Man and Deep Dive Iron Man

Iron Man 2’s May 7th release date comes closer and Hasbro’s accompanying toyline has started to make appearances in retail! Last time we had a look at some figures from the Comic Series of the 3.75″ Iron Man 2 line, today we’re taking a look at the Hypervelocity Armor and the Deep Dive Armor from the line’s Concept Series.

From what I understand, these armor versions are not in the movie, nor are they part of the Iron Man comic continuity – rather they are concept explorations of how Iron Man armors can be designed for different uses. I guess it’s a chance for the toy designers to get creative and design their own different versions of Iron Man. I think it is a fitting idea. Tony Stark already has an array of armors for different environments and purposes, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if he had designs for a “Hypervelocity” or “Deep Dive” armor somewhere in his hard drive!

NECA BioShock 2 Big Sister and Little Sister Two-Pack

With the upcoming release of BioShock 2 this Tuesday, February 9th, let’s have a look at NECA’s BioShock 2: Big Sister and Little Sister 2-pack. Now I have to admit I never played the first game (I plan to though!), so I have no idea what BioShock’s story is, but when I saw these at my local Toys R’ Us, I couldn’t resist and I decided to pick this set up. The character designs just look too awesome to ignore! I was also curious about the articulation and I was hoping they weren’t going to be statues. I loved what NECA had done with Street Fighter and Ninja Gaiden’s Ryu Hayabusa in regards to articulation, and I was hoping they did the same to these figures.

Marvel Minimates Series 32 – Iron Man, Titanium Man, Cable, X-23, Yellowjacket, Goliath, and Kree Soldiers

I am in love with Art Asylum’s Marvel Minimates. Yes I am. I have always seen these guys in my local comic book shop and at Toys R Us, I always thought they looked interesting, but I never gave in to buying them. When I saw the Series 28 Deadpool, I was so impressed with the detail and the wealth of accessories that I decided to pick him up. Open the floodgates. I was an official Minimates collector. I know I’ll never be a completist with this line starting so late, but I do notice that Art Asylum has been updating some of the previous Marvel characters they have done before. So there’s still a chance to catch up on some characters that I’ve missed!

Today we’ll have a look at Series 32. If you’re a die-hard Minimates fan, you’ve probably picked these guys up already as they came out around January. For the curious, read on and see if Minimates are something you’d be into!

Series 32 includes four sets: Iron Man and Titanium Man, Cable and X-23, Yellowjacket and Kree Soldier, and the variant set of Goliath and Kree Soldier.
