DC Direct Green Lantern Blackest Night Quick Pics

I’ve been a big fan of Green Lantern since Hal Jordan and Alan Scott took on Solomon Grundy in a Silver Age issue of Justice League of America. When the GL franchise got a boost from what Geoff Johns was doing with Blackest Night, I started building out my Green Lantern Corps, including the key members of the new “Rainbow” Corps. My primary DC collection is still Mattel’s DC Universe Classics, but at the time, many of the supporting characters had not yet been made. So, a bunch of my earlier Green Lantern collection was from DC Direct (now known as DC Collectibles) – including Saint Walker, Atrocitus, Black Hand, Nekron, Kilowog, and Guy Gardner.

Manta Raider by Joe Amaro and Rudy Obrero – Packaged Pics

Whoo! I just got a package from Joe Amaro containing the Manta Raider vehicle that he designed with Rudy Obrero. I am sharing some packaged pics, but am going to leave it to MatthewK to take pictures of the Manta Raider itself with some Masters of the Universe Classics figures. I’m going to be on the road, and let’s face it – Matt will do a better job of it than me. 🙂

ThreeA Toys Action Portable Zombs

It’s Halloween, so there’s no better time to take a look at the super-articulated Action Portable Zombs by 3A Toys. The 6-inch Zombs were offered for pre-order last year and delivered this summer – and I have bashing my brains out (coincidentally one of the ways to kill a zombie) for not having ordered more of these. I did pick up the 3-pack (the 3 guys staring at the carded figures), the Shadow Zomb (he’s carded in all black), and a blind-packed single (turned out to be the pink hooded Zomb). But the more I play with them, the more I want to build an army of these undead guys.

Kidrobot Street Fighter Mini Figures Instapics

Here are some quick pictures of some of the Street Fighter Mini Figures by Kidrobot.

My wife picked these up while we were at Rotofugi (also check out the Lucha Libre! Customized Figures at Rotofugi Gallery Art Show.) We cleaned them out of their remaining 3 blind boxed figures and then asked if we could swap out with the ones on display, since we got two E. Hondas. My wife changed her mind, so instead of that we just bought the three display figures too.

These little guys are 3-inches and have swivels at the neck and shoulders. As you can see, they have the main characters and their Player Two colorways. Ryu and Ken are awesome, but I think Chun Li came out a little plain. Maybe if she were in her Player One colors she’d pop a little more. I love that Dhalsim comes with a detachable Yoga Flame. Think we’ll have to get more of these!

The Bridge Direct Hobbit 6-Inch Thorin and Tauriel

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, directed by Peter Jackson, is almost upon us, and The Bridge Direct’s first wave of figures have finally started showing up at Toys ‘R’ Us stores in my area! I collected the old Toy Biz The Lord of the Rings trilogy figures, and I could not help but pick up some of Bridge Direct’s 6-inch line to see if they complement my LOTR collection.

Showcased today are the elf, Tauriel, and the dwarf, Thorin Oakenshield. On to some pics!
