Masters of the Universe Classics Club Eternia – Map of Eternia Viewer

A few days ago, I published some quick pics of the Club Eternia exclusives, most notably, the Map of Eternia. If you’re curious about what’s actually on that map, my wife, who is a master of the digital media universe, helped me whip up a little map viewer for you.

  • Position your mouse over areas of the map to magnify it.
  • To zoom in or out, scroll up or down with your mousewheel.

There’s lots of interesting locations I had never heard of before. Enjoy exploring Eternia!

DC Universe Classics Wave 13

DC Universe Classics Wave 13 is here at last! After getting inundated this past Fall and Winter with DCUC 10, Color of Fear, Justice in the Jungle, Superman/Batman Public Enemies, DCUC 11 and finally DCUC 12, the last 2 months waiting for DCUC 13 to ship has seemed like a long dry spell to me. I guess if I had picked up the DCUC Versus MOTUC sets I would’ve gotten a little fix to tide me over. Alas, I have no MOTUC monkey on my back, just a King Kong-sized DCUC jones. Luckily Enchanted Toy Chest got their shipment from Mattel last Tuesday (April 20th) and blasted out orders the same day! My set arrived this past Friday (April 23rd) and my DCUC need was fed.

Masters of the Universe Classics Club Eternia Exclusive Wun-Dar

Masters of the Universe Classics Wun-Dar (1200x1200).jpg

Masters of the Universe fans who subscribed to Mattel’s Club Eternia collector’s club received their exclusive figure this month – Wun-Dar, the Savage He-Man. Fashioned after the fabled Wonder Bread promotional He-Man from the original Masters of the Universe line of toys from the ’80s, Wun-Dar is simply a new paint deco on the original Masters of the Universe Classics He-Man, with brown instead of blond hair, and darker clothing and wrist bands.

Instead of the classic He-Man harness, Wun-Dar comes with the harness worn by Zodak and Zodac, but in black. He also comes with Zodac’s cosmic gun, also in black. Finally, he has both a full and a half Sword of Power, both with black hilts.

Mattel also lists the Map of Eternia as one of Wun-Dar’s accessories, but it was shipped loose, not in Wun-Dar’s packaging. I’m probably not going to open him up, so Wun-Dar will remained trapped while the Map of Eternia roams free.

How to Age a Photo Using Photoshop

Monkey Assassin Clan - Original and Final.jpg

My wife happens to be a collector too – and while I tend to go for mass-produced action figures from the big toy companies, she is a lot more discriminating. For example, take her collection of Monkey Assassins, from Wunderland War. These urban vinyl figures are produced in very limited runs, usually below 100 or 200 figures total.

The picture I took reminded me very much of those old family photo from days gone by. You seldom see them these days, and certainly not of a secretive clan of monkey assassins. However, it felt that a group shot of a secretive clan of monkey assassins might have not been so out of place 50+ years ago. So I thought to myself, could I transform the picture to make it look like something out of the 50’s. Here’s how I did it.
