Seventh Kingdom – Raavia and Shield of Draumm – RTM Exclusives

Last week I reviewed Queen Alluxandra and Isadorra, the first two exclusive figures from the Four Horsemen’s Seventh Kingdom line.  I picked those up at San Diego Comic-Con, but there’s plenty of variants that are just starting to become available from the various online media and retail outlets that the Four Horseman have been partnering with to bring you this line.  This review covers the first one of those variants that I’ve picked up, Raavia the red cat, from Raving Toy Maniac.  As a bonus, I also picked up RTM’s Fantastic Exclusive from last year, the Shield of Draumm, the hippo from Ramathorr’s council of guards.

Before I get ahead of myself, I want to point out how great it is dealing with Rob and Bobbi, the good folks that run RTM.  They put up their order page for Raavia on Monday, and by Thursday I had these figures in my hands.

Medicom VCD Gohan with Variant Piccolo Head

https://www.actionfigurepics.com/v/collections/dbz/Vinyl+Collectible+Dolls+-+DBZ+Gohan+-+closeup+_899x1200_.jpg.html

I knew I was on a slippery slope when I picked up the Medicom Real Action Heroes Dragonball Z Goku and Piccolo, regardless of how good of a deal I got at the time.  So when I learned that Medicom would be making a VCD (that stands for Vinyl Collectible Dolls, but I can’t bring myself to put “Dolls” in the title of this article) Gohan, and that it would be coming with an alternate head for the RAH Piccolo, I admitted defeat.

Sideshow is importing the Gohan VCD, but when I asked, they told me that the package they are carrying does not include the Piccolo head.  So off to Ebay I went, paying big international prices and shipping.  I feel dirty.

Marvel Legends 2-Packs – Alien Armies – Skrull Soldier and Kree Soldier

Marvel Legends 2-Packs - Alien Armies - Skrull Soldier and Kree Soldier
Marvel Legends 2-Packs - Alien Armies - Skrull Soldier and Kree Soldier

Before I get into the review, I wanted to share with you that I discovered today that I have too many toys just sitting around.  Many of you know that I don’t have a lot of shelf space.  I had thought I rectified this by putting up new shelving unit cubes recently, in place of the two big plastic containers that I affectionately called “Staging Area One.”  The problem  is that everything in Staging Area One (and on top of it) had to go somewhere.  So for now, they’re in little canvas “drawers” that fit into the cubes.  It’s still completely disorganized.

The worst part is that I can’t start setting up figures on my shelves, because my wife wants to replace the carpet – meaning everything, including the shelving units I just assembled and stacked, will have to come out.  My reason for telling this story?  I wanted you to know why I couldn’t find the original Super Skrull for comparison, and why Ronan the Accuser is without his Universal Weapon.

Ok, let’s get into this, my third of three reviews on the new (kind of) Marvel Legends 2-packs that are hitting shelves now.  Previously, I reviewed SHIELD Leaders with Maria Hill and Iron Man, and Ninjas vs. Super Spies with Hand Ninja and Nick Fury.  This 2-pack, entitled Alien Armies, contains a Skrull Soldier and a Kree Soldier – time to army build!

First, here’s the packaged pictures from the Marvel Universe Covers Contest.

Mez-Itz Con Exclusive Comic Book Hellboy

Mezco Mez-Itz - Comic Book Hellboy will shoot you in the face!
Mezco Mez-Itz - Comic Book Hellboy will shoot you in the face!

You know what?  I wanted to take some pictures of the Mezco Mez-Itz Comic Book Hellboy that’s exclusive to San Diego Comic-Con and their online store because I thought it would be a simple review.  After all, it’s a vinyl figure, right?  With vinyl, you plunk them down on a shelf, you dust them off once in a while, and that’s about it.

Not so with this guy.  As you’ll see, there’s more to this figure than you might be expecting.  I was certainly surprised.

Marvel Legends 2-Packs - Ninjas vs. Super Spies - Hand Ninja and Nick Fury

This is the second of three reviews I’ll be doing for the second wave of Hasbro’s Marvel Legends 2-packs.  I reviewed the SHIELD Leaders 2-Pack with Maria Hill and Iron Man yesterday, and thought that Maria Hill is a continuation of the good female figures that started with Shanna the She-Devil and Elektra, and that Iron Man is arguably the best one we’ve gotten in the 6-inch scale.

Today, I’ll be reviewing Ninjas vs. Super Spies, which pits a red Hand Ninja against former head of SHIELD, Nick Fury. I received a set of 2-packs as part of the Marvel Universe Covers Contest, and while I couldn’t open that set, I did take some packaged pictures. Here they are again, to refresh your memory.
