Entertainment Earth will be at New York Comic Con for the first time this year. They’re continuing their partnership with Toys R Us, so in addition to the Bif Bang Pow! and Funko exclusives, they will also have some of the TRU items, like Minimates, Real Ghostbusters, and an exclusive Rick Grimes from the Walking Dead line of figures from McFarlane.

New York Comic Con 2011 – Play Arts Kai Spartan Mark V Silver Exclusive
Square Enix’s Play Arts Kai line of action figures is one of the reasons I buy lottery tickets. I bought the Red and Blue Spartan exclusives at San Diego Comic-Con and it looks like I’ll be picking up one of these bad boys too.
Hopefully the guys at the booth will have more info on their Arkham Asylum figures too.

New York Comic Con 2011 – Compound Hulk Marvel Universe Exclusive
Hasbro is making its first appearance at New York Comic Con this year, and kudos to them for not rehashing the exclusives they offered at San Diego Comic-Con. Sure, we are hoping for the day that they melt down the molds for this Hulk, but it’s a decent repaint for a show exclusive, and the Impossible Man insert is cool. Transformers fans will be able to pick up a Nerf gun and Cuponk game exclusives.
We’ll be getting a preview tonight of what they’ll have on the floor, and I’m really looking forward to the Hasbro Marvel panel on Saturday night. Stay tuned for more!

San Diego Comic-Con 2011 – Eric Treadaway Interview
VeeBee and I had the chance to sit down again with Eric Treadaway of the Four Horsemen at San Diego Comic-Con a few weeks back. VeeBee just posted the final part of the interview at the Fwoosh, and you should also out the first, second, and third parts too. As always, it was a fascinating conversation that ran the gamut, including Masters of the Universe Classics, DC Universe Classics, and their own Fantastic Exclusives.
The whole thing provides some great insight into the entire lifecycle of making action figures, but I particularly enjoyed Eric talking about creating his own Masters of the Universe Classics character (in the part one of the interview) as well as some of the background behind the revamping of the DC Universe Classics line in the coming year (in part three), especially with the sub pre-orders coming up shy.
With the total subscriptions for Club Infinite Earths in the pre-order phase closing out at just above 60% of the desired target, and Mattel promising a related announcement this week, I’m really curious to see if Mattel is going to move forward in some way despite missing the target subscription number.
So, what do you think Mattel is going to share with us this week?
