San Diego Comic-Con, Toy Fair, and other regional event coverage
Hasbro really put on a great Marvel panel at San Diego Comic-Con, and their brand team has just released the presentation they used. If you missed it, you can also check out the video I shot of the Hasbro Marvel panel as well as some pictures of the Build-a-Figure Arnim Zola that is coming in the second wave of the Marvel Legends relaunch.

One of my favorite reveals in all of Comic-Con happened during the Hasbro Marvel panel today (video below). In wave 2 of the relaunch of Marvel Legends, Hasbro will be making Arnim Zola the Build-a-Figure. While that’s an awesome announcement on its own, it gets better – through running changes, you’ll have the option to build a Red Skull version of Arnim Zola with new parts and an alternate chest insert (shown above).

While I’m waiting for my video of the Hasbro Marvel panel from today’s Comic-Con sessions to process, I thought you might like to see some pictures of the upcoming Build-a-Figure from wave 2 of the Marvel Legends relaunch planned for 2012. I took one look at Arnim Zola here and the first thing that came to mind was: What?! No bicep swivels?!?!

Mattel announced at their Mattypalooza panel yesterday that Club Eternia would continue and that they’d be adding even more Masters of the Universe Classics figures to the store via the 30th Anniversary figures. So in addition to Bubble Power She-Ra and the Windraider this year, He-Man fans will still have more figures to buy outside of the “all-in” subscription.
I’m pressed for time to get back to the show floor, so here’s the pics!
At Mattel’s DC Universe panel yesterday, they announced pretty nonchalantly that wave 20 of DC Universe Classics would be the last at retail and that they are launching (if they meet the pre-sales target) a direct to consumer subscription on MattyCollector.com called Club Infinite Earths. After the initial shock, it became more clear that this was *not* the end of DC Universe Classics, but rather that Mattel was taking advantage of the DCnU reboot at DC Comics to refresh the retail line.
A little more on that with the pics, and we’ll get to even more detail when we talk to the Four Horsemen and the Mattel team before the show closes.
