threeA Toys and IDW San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive Day Watch Heavy Bramble Sneak Peak

The folks at 3A Toys had been saying for a while that they’d have some exclusives for San Diego Comic-Con, and they’ve revealed the first, with IDW, the folks they partnered with for the first WWRp Bramble. That Bramble was also an exclusive at SDCC, a couple of years back.

In their blog post, they reference the NW (Night Watch) colorway, but the pic is clearly labeled Day Watch and shows that colorway. But you can’t really have one without the other, right?

IDW will be selling these at SDCC etc, 3A doesnt know what their selling practices are for SDCC, so email Ted Adams ( or tweet him, his favorite way to be poked ) and ask him!

The image has NW HEavy Bramble nekkid not sporting his tough guy pouches etc. We will have two 3A exclusive toys that will be available online and the show ( limited amounts for both etc ) more on them soon !

Toy Fair 2011 – Funko Vinyl Figures – DC, Thor Movie, and More

Funko (1280x720).jpg

Yeah, I know – I’m still posting updates about Toy Fair, now a couple weekends past. I wish that toys were a full-time gig for me, but it’s just a hobby. And, in some cases, not a “break the bank” hobby. Case in point – these vinyl figures from Funko. These will run you between $6 and $10 most places.

They’ve got a boatload of DC figures and just added the Thor Movie license to their stable. On top of that, there’s a bunch of pop culture licenses in the mix too, with some 80s movie franchises and music figures too. Who wouldn’t want to rock and roll all night with these versions of Kiss?

Toy Fair 2011 – Bif Bang Pow! Venture Bros. and Dr. Who

BBP - Venture Bros (5) (1280x720).jpgBBP - Dr. Who (1280x720).jpg

I hope the guys don’t hold this against me, but as much as I’ve enjoyed the Venture Bros., I haven’t yet bought any of the Mego-like figures. I think they nailed Brock Samson, but Doc, Hank, and Dean Venture were a little on the weak side – I think it was their eyes.

But Bif Bang Pow! is definitely hitting their stride – these figures have gotten better with every release, and Jonas and Rusty are perfect. When you see the figures in a big group, and knowing the number of characters they have planned, the line becomes incredibly appealing. But please, give Molotov Cocktease a little more cleavage – lift and separate!

I wish I could say more about the Dr. Who figures – I’ve never seen the show. My buddy Ayeffkay showed me this t-shirt, It Came Out Of Nowhere, and I wanted to know why the DeLorean had run into a phone booth. I apologize for my ignorance.

Toy Fair 2011 – NECA Duke Nukem, Terminator, Gears of War, BioShock

NECA (13) (1280x853).jpg

I’m getting settled back in after a whirlwind trip to NYC for Toy Fair, so I’ll be posting the remaining pics over the next few days. Up next is NECA – I will probably never forgive them for deep-sixing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles wave 2 figures, but I’ll admit that it’s hard to keep the blood boiling when they continue to put out awesome figures for the lines that have continued to thrive. A new addition this year is a Duke Nukem figure to accompany Duke Nukem Forever. I could make a joke about what the Forever stands for in the game name, but I won’t. I was also really impressed by the new Terminator figures, although I have a tough time finding those in my local TRUs.

They also had some more Gears of War, BioShock, and Claptrap from Borderlands on display. VeeBee was disappointed I missed the Gremlins stuff – I’m not sure how I could overlook those.
