Retail and online toy sightings, hot finds, and sales reminders
A couple months ago, Jor-El was one of the tougher Man of Steel Movie Masters figures to find. Until 1PM PST today, or while supplies last, he’s one of Amazon’s Cyber Monday deals for the great price of $7.69. They also had the black-suited Man of Steel Superman up earlier, but he’s already sold out at the $9.99 deal price and now back up to $13.31.
Kidrobot has got a great sale going on for Cyber Monday. Practically everything is on sale, and started at 60% off in the wee hours. It’ll be 50% off until 2PM PST, and then 40% off until 11PM PST.
My wife’s infatuation with blind boxed figures is starting to rub off on me. I’m a little obsessed with Frank Kozik’s collaboration with Marvel – mini Labbits fashioned after Marvel’s heroes, anti-heroes, and villains. It’s certainly an interesting character selection for the first series. While I was there, I also picked up some Travis Cain BFFs for the missus – those are her current obsession.

Since the Mattycollector Cyber Monday sale kicked off last Tuesday, four items have sold out. Masters of the Universe Classics Granymyr was first to go, during Early Access. Since then, Hordak, Orko, and Battle Armor Skeletor have joined him.

There’s a few notable items up for sale today only as part of Entertainment Earth’s Black Friday week 5-day sale.
They also have the DC Unlimited Injustice Batman and Injustice Superman figures up today but we all know those didn’t turn out so nicely. For the items up for the full 5 days, many of the Square Enix Play Arts Kai figures sold out fast, but they still have the Super Street Fighter IV Ken and Sakura Play Arts Kai figures for a steal at $35 each. I’ve been browsing looking for online deals today – pretty lazily, because with online shopping it’s not too hard to fill the gaps in the toy collection. But I did see some big price drops for wave 1 of the 6-inch Star Wars Black Series at Amazon. Now, I’ve already got the figures, but for those of you who have been holding off, now might be the time to get in. The figures are really great, and for $9.99 each, you can pretend you’re buying them a long time ago and far, far away – while the sting of George Lucas trashing your childhood with the prequels was still fresh!
The only exception, naturally, is the Sandtrooper – still a couple bucks off at $17.99, but people have been army building.
