Mattel WWE Legends Andre the Giant on Sale 1/30/12

Mattel WWE (8) (1280x853).jpg

I was very disappointed when Mattel decided to pull its WWE Legends line from retail. But with their Rockers 2-pack still available on MattyCollector.com after going on sale late November last year, I guess that the demand for classic WWE Superstars might not be as strong as I would personally like it to be.

Hopefully Mattel’s release of Andre the Giant today will kick off the Legends sales via MattyCollector.com on a strong note for 2012. After Andre, Mattel plans to offer Fan’s Choice winners Diamond Dallas Page (April), King Kong Bundy (May), Arn Anderson (July), Tully Blanchard (September), and Miss Elizabeth (November). I’m most interested in the Miss Elizabeth figure, so I hope sales remain strong throughout the year.

For your convenience, here’s the WWE bundle page for today’s sale. In addition to Andre, there’s a limited number of Undertaker figures from San Diego Comic-Con last year, two types of display stands, and the languishing Rockers 2-pack.

ThreeA Toys 2012 Membership on Sale Today Only

As you guys may know, at AFP we’ve become great fans of 3A Toys. And today the 3A membership club for 2012 (called 3AA for 3A Associates) goes on sale for 24 hours. You may be asking yourself why you’d pay $180 for something like this, but it comes with an exclusive figure that in itself covers the cost – and the 15% discount over the course of the year plus the hat and messenger bag are all just gravy.

Don’t miss out – believe me, you will regret it! 🙂

For the time-zone challenged, the 3AA 2012 membership goes on sale starting today, January 12, at 8PM EST, available for only 24 hours.

3AA 2012 goes onsale 13th Jan at 9-00am, the sale will last 24 hours and the opportunity to join 3AA will not come around till the same time next year!

3AA 2012 costs $180USD, the member pack consists of 15% discount to any product purchased directly from 3A via Bambaland or conventions etc for the period of 12 months (under the account name the 3AA 2012 was purchased), 3AA messenger bag, 3AA baseball cap (regular size), membership card and the exclusive Adventure Kartel 1/6th figure F-LEGION.

**The small print which isn’t that small**

  • The 3AA discount will be applied online at the Bambalandstore to the account under which 3AA was purchased.
  • 3AA 2012 members are guaranteed access to purchase one (more if applicable) standard release and 3AA exclusive releases for the period of the 2012 membership. Standard sales does not cover special sales of limited nature, Ashley Wood 1:1 editions or 3A publications.

“Baron Sogg” Resin Art Figure Release

This is a pet-project of my own creation I thought I would share. I know “urban” vinyl or art toys are not everyone’s thing, but some may enjoy these.

Each figure is 2.5 inches tall and hand cast from urethane resin in varying colors and effects, from metallic silver to glow in the dark. Each is packaged with custom design art and background cards.

They go on sale for $10 each on Friday, December 9th at 12:00pm Central time on the GO!BOIDS Shop.

Masters of the Universe Classics, DC Universe Classics Wave 18, Justice League Unlimited and More On Sale 11/15

It’s a pretty big sale day tomorrow (and for the next couple of weeks) at MattyCollector.com. On the Masters of the Universe Classics front, you’ve got fan favorite Snout Spout and She-Ra’s Swiftwind as the Club Eternia subscription figures. And don’t forget to get Bubble Power She-Ra, who is not part of the sub, if you want a She-Ra that can actually ride Swiftwind. This She-Ra can be combined with the original release for the classic look with updated articulation.

On the DC front, DC Universe Classics Wave 18 is also on sale today as individual figures, and in what I can only characterize as an end of year clearance, Retro Action DC Super Heroes and Justice League Unlimited are out in force. All the JLU 4-packs are priced to move, as long as you can get 9 or more of your closest collector friends in on the deal. 🙂

And for your convenience, here’s the handy dandy link to the MattyCollector.com bundle page for the November sale.

DC Universe Classics Club Infinite Earths Subscription – Time to Hit It or Quit It

DCUC%20Wave%2020%20Club%20Infinite%20Earths%20(1)%20(1280x853)

We’re closing in on the final date (8/22) to make Mattel’s DC Universe Classics Subscription Club – Club Infinite Earths – a reality and I thought we should do our part to help keep DCUC going. Unfortunately, I’m not that eloquent – that’s why I contribute here at AFP, where we focus on pics, not words. 🙂

But I have to say, if you’re still on the fence about pulling the trigger on the subscription, there’s plenty of compelling info out there to make someone on the fence consider jumping onboard. I’m very excited about what I hear regarding extra heads, accessories and other pack-ins they will be able to offer in place of C&C parts and the Mattel DC brand team sounds genuinely excited about the possibilities for character selection and execution without the boundaries of retail hampering them.

Here’s some of the items I’ve seen from around the web that I found helpful.
