ThreeA Toys Adventure Kartel Dead Astronaut Gangsta Pre-Order Opens Today

The AK Golden Dolphin set was the first of the Adventure Kartel sets needed to get a promotional AK Shadow. I was still decompressing from SDCC when that pre-order went up, so I missed posting about it.

The Dead Astronaut Gangsta set is the second of the four sets for that Shadow. The white and black Gangstas will also be available as singles (with no Shadow promo later, of course). It all goes up for pre-order on Bambaland today in a couple of hours, at 6PM EST. The window for pre-ordering is 24 hours.

As part of standard pre-order, we will offer two singles and AKLUB set.

Singles price is 160USD and set costs 310USD.

Set of Black and White Dead Astronaut Gangstas comes with sweet EETU accessory exclusive to the set. This set will be the second set (GOLDEN DOLPHIN NO SHIT ON THESE FLIPPERS SET – was first) purchase within AKLUB (Adventure Kartel club) which goes towards 1/6th scale MS SHADOW figure. To remind you: MS SHADOW will not be available anywhere else and to receive it you have to make four AKLUB sets purchases; MS SHADOW comes free, however you will have to cover the shipping charges. When I got home from San Diego Comic-Con, this Bertie MK3 from 3A Toys’ WWRp line was waiting for me. And though I was a little worn out from lugging my camera around the San Diego Convention Center for a few days, this is just the kind of toy that makes me want to snap some shots. So I grabbed the earlier Dutch Merc Bertie and Square I’ve had for a while and headed outside. I only had one requirement – after taking hundreds of pictures at SDCC, I just wanted one of this Bertie.

ThreeZero to Make 1/6 Scale Figures from The Walking Dead?

Here’s an unofficial announcement (read: rumor) that is starting to make the rounds. The earliest trace I could find of it is from the BBICN boards – a BBICN member posted that ThreeZero has licensed the Walking Dead from AMC and will be producing 1/6 scale figures, and that they will be on display at San Diego Comic-Con.

I have been posting quite a bit about ThreeA Toys since I jumped on the bandwagon a few years back. ThreeZero is the home of the 3A Toys “Hatchery” – they are the production arm, or factory, that makes the toys. ThreeZero is owned and operated by Kim Fung Wong. He’s also Ashley Wood’s partner in 3A.

Still, this news / rumor is a little puzzling to me. After all, zombies are one of 3A’s mainstays. And 3A has been on a licensing tear, adding a diverse line-up in the past couple years. They’ve got 2000 A.D., Marvel, Valve, Metal Gear Solid, and Real Steel. They just closed out pre-orders for the first figures from their Halo 2 and Lost Planet 2 lines. So it seems odd that Walking Dead would fall under ThreeZero instead of ThreeA.

But who knows what twists and turns happen behind the scenes in the licensing game. We’ll talk to 3A at SDCC and see if we can find out more about this.
