WebSwipe: Daniel Picard’s 1:1 Toys

Daniel Picard Photography

I came across the Daniel Picard Photography website via a Sideshow Toys Facebook post and have been cursing his photography and Photoshop skills ever since. He has filled up his 1:1 Toys project by “using collectible toys and and giving them the illusion of being full-size.”

His shots include figures from Sideshow Collectibles, Hot Toys, 3A Toys, and more – now I envy his collection too.

ThreeA Toys WWRp Bromwich Bertie Mk 3.5 Up for Pre-Order Now

WWRp Bromwich Bertie Mk 3.5

The pre-order window for the 3A Toys Real Steel Atom has been closed – if you missed out, you’ll still be able to pick him up when the retail version is released, but he won’t come with the in scale remote control that is exclusive to the Bambaland version. In Atom’s place, 3A has put up this dual pistol wielding Bertie, in the Bromwich colorway. Now, I’m a sucker for dual pistols, but I’ve got to draw the line at one pink killer robot a month – and I pre-ordered the “Hellboy” bot (the battle-damaged Pinky) just under 2 weeks ago.

But for those of you looking for a weathered but not damaged WWRp Bertie Mk 3.5, the Bromwich here is the first to be offered. And it looks like they’ll be spreading these guys out like they’re doing with the WWRp Grunts, instead of bundling them together in a 12-pack (or whatever number of colorways they’ll eventually get to.) You can pre-order the Bromwich at Bambalandstore.

ThreeA Toys Real Steel Atom Goes on Sale 4/13

I had not seen the Real Steel movie before Ambush and Midas were offered for pre-sale. And while the story itself was about as formulaic as you can get, I did enjoy the robot fighting. Now I’m pondering about jumping on for Atom and Noisy Boy (my favorite design of the Real Steel bots), and the inevitable Zeus. These should go on sale at 6PM EST on April 13. If the pricing is consistent, Atom should go for $290.

WebSwipe: New ThreeA Toys Licenses at Beast Kingdom Toys in Taiwan by Figure Hobby Club

ThreeA Toys Taipei by Figure Hobby Club (Luka)

I’d love to get to all the toy shows around the world – right now 3A Toys has a toy / art show going on at Beast Kingdom Toys in Taipei, Taiwan. In addition to the massive displays of World War Robot, Adventure Kartel, and Popbot, I was excited to see some new prototypes and figures from some of the newer licenses that they’ve acquired. Chinese site Figure Hobby Club was there to capture these shots, and they’ve got not one, but two massive threads of all the action at the show.

I’ve grabbed a couple of shots of the new Real Steel, Valve (Portal), and other figures that stood out. In particular, the Capcom prototypes were really illustrative of the kind of work 3A can do that is not 3a-styled, if you know what I mean. Should give some ideas on what we might see (or not see) with respect to the Marvel license.
