ThreeA Toys KA-MUMBs (Steam-Powered Mummies) on Sale Now

Somehow these Adventure Kartel KA-MUMB mummies from 3A Toys are not as appealing to me as the Zombs, but for those of you looking to pick up these guys, they just showed up on at Bambaland. I hope I don’t regret sitting this one out – with the Zombs it wasn’t until I got a few in 1/12 scale that I realized I should have gotten them when I had the chance.

ThreeA Toys WWRp EMGY TRG Grunt On Sale Now

3A Toys WWRp EMGY Grunt 3A Toys WWRp EMGY Grunt 2 3A Toys WWRp Blanc Grunt

Hey, more WWRp Grunts are on sale – this time it’s the WWRp EMGY Grunt, on sale now at bambalandstore.com for $45 plus shipping. It was just ten days ago that 3A had the WWRp Medic Grunt and Square up for pre-order, so 3A is sticking to its plan to not offer all the Grunts at once. While I’m glad at the break my wallet is getting, I also don’t mind the sets, because there’s no additional shipping charges. On the other hand, I’m trying to scale back from getting every single colorway. While EMGY is extremely popular among the 3A fans, it’s not on my list, so I get a pass on this sale.

On the topic of shipping, army builders get a break if they’re buying multiples. Thanks to Gimbat for sharing the details.

WWRp EMGY TRG Grunt combined shipping for you guys (to save you some clicking):

Combined shipping

  • for 2: 25USD
  • for 3: 33USD
  • for 4: 40USD
  • for 5: 50USD
  • for 6: 60USD
  • for 7: 70USD

Ashley Wood Answers our Top Questions about the ThreeA Toys and Marvel Collaboration

3A Toys Marvel Collaboration - Golden Age

It’s no secret – I am tremendously excited for (and a little scared of) the collaboration that 3A Toys announced with Marvel Comics on Friday. My re-entry point for toy collecting started with 6-inch Marvel Legends, but 1/6 scale figures have started to break my toy budget wide open – Hot Toys and 3A Toys are the main culprits. With the Marvel movies, Hot Toys might as well take my ATM card and PIN, and now 3A Toys will threaten to do that with its re-imagined comic book figures.

Fans of 3A know that they’ve got a very unique style – for those of us with mainstream taste, this combination with Marvel might seem odd. That’s one of the things on my mind as I reach out to Ashley Wood. Ash is the artist and design force behind 3A Toys. I’m sure there’s many more questions, but I wanted to know what Ash thinks of when he thinks Marvel, and how that’s influencing the Marvel figures 3A is making.

AFP: What were some of the Marvel Comics you first read? Have any personal favorite books, teams, or eras of comics? What books are you reading today?

Ashley Wood: I always enjoyed the Avengers, Spider-Man, Iron Fist, Marvel Team-Up, the X-men, Captain America, Tomb of Dracula, Daredevil and so on. The late 70’s to mid to late 80’s are my personal golden period. But I’m very fond of the Tales of Suspense with Kirby Captain America stories in them. I kinda collect the trades from that personal golden period now, but that’s mainly due to not visiting comic shops like I once did and not knowing what the great titles are.

ThreeA Toys to Collaborate with Marvel Comics on Re-Imagined 1/6 Scale Action Figure Line

3A Toys Marvel Collaboration

3A Toys is making Marvel Comics 1/6 scale action figures? For me, it’s a dream and a nightmare. I can’t wait to see what Ashley Wood comes up with for his re-imagined versions of Marvel heroes and villains, but I also pity my wallet and my ability to delay gratification. I hope 3A doesn’t stray too far from the classic looks of its characters. They’re a natural for any armored or mech characters (but really, how many 1/6 collectors already have a ton of Iron Man figures?) but I’d want to see how they can handle clothing apps for spandex – not quite the same thing as boiler suits and cargo pants.

One thing that could get me feeling lukewarm on these is if 3A uses its very unique style for its human head sculpts. Right now I can’t see that meshing too well with Marvel. Still – can’t wait to see some of these come to life!

ThreeA Toys World War Robot JEA Meat is Murder Super Set on Sale Today 2/21 at 8PM EST

I’m kind of glad I got into the 1/6 scale with 3A Toys kind of late. I don’t have any of the bots in the scale (although I have gone a little crazy in the 1/12 Portable scale) and I think my wife would pull a little Meat is Murder on me if I started now. I just spent a hefty chunk of change on the AP Ten Finger Gang (which oddly has 11 figures) and the AP Tomorrow Queen sets, as well as an unexpected WWRp Medic Grunt and Square.

For the timezone challenged, the WWR JEA Meat is Murder set goes on sale today at 8PM EST on bambalandstore.com. Semper Fi, JEA Marines!

3A Toys WWR Meat is Murder Super Set

Now on to Meat is Murder (JEA ASSAULT CREW), which will go up for pre-order on February 22nd 9:00AM Hong Kong time at Bambalandstore. It’s biggest WWR set yet and it’s going to cost: 530 USD shipped worldwide. It’s surely ain’t cheap, but that’s the best we can do for such a massive set. It was coming for pre-order a long time (with first photo teased on June 1st 2011) , it’s an insane & crazy set, which will probably only us will do, as it includes FIVE 1/6th scale figures: Dropcloth, Grunt, MK1 & MK2 Squares and Armstrong.
