Best Week Ever (the Toy Version) and the Spread Good Karma Giveaway

I’ve had a really good week (or so) for toys. It started on our anniversary – as a gift, my wife got me the Wal-Mart exclusive Avengers Hulk that has been eluding me for some time. And she didn’t even blink when I told her that I was planning to Frankenstein him with some other Hulks to make the best Hulk ever (maybe some day). And it’s kept going since then:

Hasbro Return of Marvel Legends – BigBadToyStore let me know that my pre-order of Wave 3 was in.
3A Toys Action Portable – My most-anticipated figure, the Fighting JC, was announced in 1/12 scale, and on order day I also scored an AP blue-suited Zomb for a great price on eBay and the secret Dark Sarge Zomb on bambalandstore.com, right as the JC sale was closing up.
Hot Toys The Dark Knight – I missed out on the pre-order window for the SWAT version of Jim Gordon, but Sideshow just let me know that they found one for me (I had put myself on the wait list).

With all this good stuff happening to me (aside from now being completely broke :)), I figured I should spread the good toy karma around with a Free Stuff giveaway. Here’s what’s up for grabs and how to get up to three chances to win.

threeA Toys Action Portable Fighting JC on Sale 9/5 (Today!)

I know the 3A site says September 6, but that’s because that’s Hong Kong time. For those of us who are timezone challenged, the Fighting JCs in 1/12 go on sale starting at 9PM EST today.

I have waited a long time for the Fighting JC to make it to the Action Portable scale, so I am all in! Don’t miss out!

ThreeA Toys Halo Figures On Sale Now

I just bought a Halo figure from 3A Toys for $170 (list price is $200 but I am a 3AA member and get a discount) and I haven’t played a Halo game in years. I guess I’m pretty enamored with the Spartan armor – I started with McFarlane and got mesmerized with Square Enix’s Play Arts Kai Spartans. And now 3A had to come along and feed my addiction with some 1/6 scale versions. Let’s face it – with fiber optic lighting, magnetized armor and weapons, and some kick-ass sculpting and paint apps, I really didn’t stand a chance.

Commander Carter will be available at specialty retailers, but the Spartan MKV Commando will only be available at bambalandstore.com for a limited time – that’s the one I picked up.

ThreeA Toys Halo Figures On Sale Next Week

I love it when I happen to stay up late and catch a new 3A Toys reveal. I was blown away by the Halo Commander Carter at San Diego Comic-Con and am psyched to see it come up for order so soon afterwards.

How long we’ll be waiting for them to ship is another matter entirely. 😉

For those of you who are used to buying McFarlane Halo figures, these might come with a little sticker shock at $200, but I think they’ll blow you away. Fully articulated, individual fingers? Fiber optic lighting? Magnetic attachment points for weapons? Awesome. I’m psyched for the 3AA exclusive figure and think that might be the version I pick up.

These should be going on sale at Bambaland Store at 6PM PST on August 31.

SDCC 2012: ThreeA Toys Halo will Blow the Hell out of those Damn Bugs

It’s been years since I’ve played a Halo game, but somehow I’m still buying Halo action figures. And it’s been a slippery slope. I bought a few McFarlane figures, and last year Square Enix got me with some of their Play Arts Kai figures. Now, 3A Toys is going to crush this license with super-articulated, super-detailed figures like this bad boy.

Watch out, guys – if you’re resisting 1/6 scale figures, Halo from 3A is a dangerous gateway drug. I dare you to buy this when it comes out and see if you can stop. Don’t say I didn’t warn you! Pretty soon you’ll be hunting down these other 3A figures we saw at SDCC.
