ThreeA Toys 2010 Exclusive Nom de Plume

Ebonhorn was kind enough to send me some pictures and a review of the ThreeA Toys Nom de Plume, which was an exclusive figure for people who purchased the ThreeA 2010 Membership. He’s been waiting patiently for me to publish it since before San Diego Comic-Con, and is bummed that Pabs, the slowest reviewer in the world, was able to publish pics of his Blanc de Plume before I could post this. Sorry and thanks, Ebon!

WWRp Nom de Plume - action 3.jpg

A few months ago, a picture surfaced showing off several unpainted 1/12 scale WWRp robots from ThreeA Toys. However, something else caught every one’s attention – a 1/12 scale human body. The fan base went crazy wondering what it could be. It was not long before our questions were answered – ThreeA had developed a 1/12 scale version of their 1/6 scale figure body. In keeping with tradition, the first 1/12 scale human figure would be Nom de Plume, the very figure that the ThreeA logo invokes. Three A announced that people who bought the ThreeA 2010 membership would receive Nom de Plume as an exclusive surprise. I missed out on the membership but had a chance to get him and did. The big question – does he match up with the high expectations set by the 1/6 scale figures? The quick answer – he certainly does.

I still have a guest review of the WWRp Nom de Plume to get published (sorry Ebon!) I missed picking one up of the Noms when the 2010 3A memberships were on sale, so I will probably try to pick up at least one of the Noir de Plumes that will go on sale later today.

World War Robot Heavy Brambles on Sale 8/11

World War Robot fans, these 1/6 scale Brambles are the Mk 2.5 heavies. Each comes with an RPG that will give you equipment envy. At these prices and because of space considerations, I’m going to have to stick to the WWRp 1/12 scale, but 3A’s Ashley Wood has said that there’s no plans to bring this version of the Bramble to the smaller scale.

For those of you who are time zone challenged, 9AM Hong Kong time on Thursday means 6PM PST on Wednesday.

WWRp Nom de Plume Stop Motion Video at Beijing Gathering

Seeing Talyn’s Most Wanted list for San Diego Comic-Con reminded me that I hadn’t checked the quite useful news thread that Gimbat compiles daily at the 3A Toys forum in a while. It was there that I found the link to this short but sweet video of the WWRp Nom de Plume, at the 3A Toys Beijing Gathering from a few weeks ago.

Coincidentally, I’ve got a guest review of the WWRp Nom de Plume that’s in the works – I’m not sure if I’ll be able to post it before the craziness of San Diego Comic-Con starts, but stay tuned!

San Diego Comic-Con 2010 Most Wanted – Talyn

Though I am unable to attend SDCC this year, there is much I look forward to seeing and hearing about, action figure and otherwise.

Transformers (Hasbro)

BotCon 2010 09.jpg

I collect Transformers pretty heavily, and at this year’s Botcon several weeks ago, some amazing descriptions for upcoming figures were given by those who attended. I am hoping these figures get shown at Comic Con this year. These include the LONG awaited Generations (Classics) Jazz with pop-out boombox speakers, as well as a few other favorites like Tracks, Perceptor, Reflector & more. Im also looking forward to seeing a new Power Core Combiner themed after the original G1 Dinobots named ‘Grimstone.”

Hasbro is also planning on showing more info about the upcoming Hub television show; Transformers: Prime, so hopefully some video comes from that as well.
