Best of San Diego Comic-Con 2011 – Sandman
Another Comic-Con has passed us by, so it is time for us to pick our “Best in Show” this year! I’ve gotta do a top three since I have trouble just picking one!
3) Number three goes to Hasbro’s Marvel Legends Wave 2 Build-a-Figure Arnim Zola!
I have to admit, I’m not super familiar with the character, but I love the way he turned out! C’mon, how can you not love a guy with his face on his chest? I see Arnim as a sign of great things to come from the revamped ML. I guess you can say I’m generally excited with the return of Marvel Legends, period. The fact that the Arnim Zola wave (wave 2) will include Bucky Cap and some Wrecking Crew members just adds to the excitement of it all! I do hope they start innovating and improving some of the standard Marvel Legends bucks moving forward (just like Thor!), it’s the perfect time to do so too with the popularity of Marvel (due to the upcoming movies) riding high for the next couple of years!

WonderCon 2011 – ThunderCats Trailer
I was not able to attend the ThunderCats panel at WonderCon last weekend, but Warner Bros did send us the WonderCon trailer for the new show. My first thought from the opening scenes were that it felt very much like Avatar: The Last Airbender – then I noticed Ethan Spaulding in the press release – one of the producers from Avatar. Now my expectations are even higher.
I’m looking forward to the accompanying action figure series from Bandai. I’ve been thinking primarily about the 8-inch classic figures, but if the show is outstanding, I might have to pick up some of the toys that match up with the new animation style. I’ll reserve judgment, but the trailer is pretty good.
Toy Fair 2011 – Bandai Thundercats Video
So, let me come clean – we missed Bandai at Toy Fair. It’s my fault too – the show room was by appointment only, and I didn’t actually make any appointments this year.
Luckily, Bandai PR came to the rescue, with a well-timed press release. Read on for the complete release and a video of the toys.
