It’s No Laughing Matter – Win the Arkham Asylum Joker from Sideshow

The Clown Prince of Crime kicks off a new Premium Format Figure line from Sideshow Collectibles

Sideshow Collectibles Arkham Asylum Joker Premium Format Figure Giveaway

If you’re a fan of the Batman: Arkham Asylum series of video games, Sideshow is holding a giveaway you’d be crazy to pass up. They are launching a new line of Premium Format Figures for the game, and the Joker is the first of them to be revealed. Standing at over 2 feet tall, his appearance is styled after the designs of the game – before he self-medicated with the Titan drug, of course.

It looks like Batman will be the next figure in the line, and if it’s a hit, then I hope we’ll see Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. And I think it’d be overkill to see Premium Format Figures of Bane, Killer Croc, and a Titan Joker – they’d be ginormous!

You can enter the Arkham Asylum Joker giveaway at Sideshow – it will be $449.99 when it goes up for pre-order tomorrow. If you’ve got the toy budget for it, I’d suggest getting in on it early – the Sideshow exclusive version will also have a swappable laughing portrait (shown above). Good luck!

Win a Toy Fair Exclusive One:12 Collective Batman in Mezco Instagram Giveaway

Mezco One 12 Collective Dark Knight Returns Batman Toy Fair exclusive Instagram giveaway

We love the Dark Knight Returns Batman, the first from Mezco’s One:12 Collective line of 6-inch mixed-media action figures. And now, Mezco is giving away one of the rarest of their Batman figures – an exclusive black and white version of the TDKR Bats that was a Toy Fair issue of just 100 figures. If you’re on Instagram, it’s easy to enter:

  1. Follow @mezcotoyz on Instagram.
  2. Like their Instagram photo for the contest (seen on the right side of the image above).
  3. Repost that photo with the hashtag #ONE12TFEX – if you can’t figure out how to get the photo out of Instagram (for example, by taking a screenshot of it in the Instagram app on your phone), you can download the photo here.

Mezco will pick a lucky winner on Monday, April 6. Good luck!

(By the way, while you’re on Instagram, please follow my AFP Instagram account too. Thanks!)

No Joke – Mattycollector Convention Exclusives 20% Off Sale – 24 Hours Only, Starting Tomorrow

Mattycollector convention exclusives 24 hour sale

Mattel is continuing to clear out remaining inventory at Mattycollector – on sale tomorrow for 20% off are DC Universe and Masters of the Universe Classics figures from San Diego Comic-Con and the “traveling conventions.” Most of these are from the past two years – but I’m surprised that Matty still has some of the Mo-Larr vs Skeletor 2-packs from way back in 2010 in stock. I’m a Robot Chicken fan, but maybe the Eternian Dentist was too much of a stretch for the hardcore He-Fans.

The sale at Mattycollector starts at 9AM PST tomorrow, April 2nd. It lasts for 24 hours, but judging from previous sales, your best bet is to get there at the opening bell if there’s something you really want. No April Fools, and happy shopping!

More Batman: The Animated Series, Arrow, and the Flash in DC Collectibles Solicits for October 2015

DC Collectibles October 2015 Solicits - Batman the Animated Series, Arrow, and The Flash

DC Collectibles’ solicits for October include figures that we saw during Toy Fair, from Batman: the Animated Series, Arrow, and The Flash.

In addition to a wave of figures for B:TAS that includes Bane and Nightwing, the line will also get its first vehicle – an in scale Batmobile (two feet long!) with working hatch, room for two 6-inch figures, and LED lights. At $99.95, it’s about double what Mattel charged for it’s 6-inch scaled Batmobile for the 1966 series – but less than half the $215 that Mattycollector wanted for the Ghostbusters Ecto-1.

So, who’s going to buy the B:TAS Batmobile (check out our video fly-by of the vehicle)? I’m on the fence.
