Watch Robot Chicken – Giving Bats a Ride

Robot Chicken - Giving Bats a Ride

Need a laugh today? Watch Batman ask Green Lantern to “Pimp My Ride” as the Mego Justice League fights the DC Universe Classics Chemo, in this classic clip from Robot Chicken.

Now admit that this could be a better Justice League than Zack Snyder can pull together for the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice movie. 😀

Sideshow Collectibles Batman Gotham Knight Sixth Scale Preview and Giveaway

I’ve been having a great time taking pictures of the exclusive Sideshow Collectibles Batman from last year (check out @AFPRon on Instagram) – it’s easily my favorite Batman figure I’ve owned (and I have a lot of them). While the sixth scale Batman is still available in the non-exclusive version, if your tastes run toward the black and gray, Sideshow has put up a preview of a “Gotham Knight” variant of Batman.

In addition to the palette change to black and gray, the Gotham Knight version of Bats has some other changes from the original. It comes with three portraits with interchangeable facial expressions – the newest having extra long bat ears, reminiscent of Kelley Jones’s rendition of the Dark Knight. Mix and match ears to grimaces to your heart’s content. The bat symbol on his chest is also different from the original, and the buckle on his utility belt matches the pouches (on the earlier Batman the buckle was a darker metallic.

I think I’m set with the blue and gray, but if you haven’t yet jumped on this line, you couldn’t go wrong with either. The Gotham Knight Batman will go up for pre-order tomorrow, for $199.99. Sideshow is also giving away a Gotham Knight Batman – so check out the preview to enter.

Toy Fair 2015: Mattel Batman 1966 Line (including Batcave Playset Fly-By Video)

Toy Fair 2015 Mattel Batman 1966 (1 of 6)

Remember watching the Adam West Batman show and ending up with a cliffhanger – only to miss the following episode? That’s what it felt like waiting for news about Mattel’s Batman 1966 line. A nostalgic favorite for many, the line hit some snags with sell-through and its fate was uncertain.

At least until this past weekend, when Mattel announced the Batman 1966 line would be returning to retail. And in a fitting twist, much of it would be reruns. The 6-inch figure assortment is returning with no new additions to the line-up. The one new 6-incher, the Yvonne Craig Batgirl, shows up in a 3-pack with Batman and Robin. Speaking of the Dynamic Duo, they return with the Batmobile. And Adam West gets a headsculpt in a new deluxe playset entitled “To the Batcave, Batman!”

Toy Fair 2015: DC Collectibles Arrow, the Flash, and Arkham Knight

Toy Fair 2015 DC Collectibles Flash and Arrow (1 of 8)

In addition to their awesome lines for BTAS and DC Comics Icons, DC Collectibles is also continuing to support Warner Bros. TV shows and video games. DCC showed off waves of figures for The Flash, Arrow, and the newest Batman video game, Arkham Knight, which is due out in July this year.

While Constantine was represented in other parts of the showroom, the NBC series has not gotten any love yet. And it may not be forthcoming anytime soon, with NBC not extending the first season beyond the original order of 13 episodes, and the decision for a second season or cancellation still in limbo.

Toy Fair 2015: DC Collectibles Batman the Animated Series (including Video Fly-Bys)

Toy Fair 2015 DC Collectibles Batman the Animated Series (1 of 15)

Before I got floored by the DC Comics Icons figures, I was visiting the DC Collectibles booth to see the new Batmobile from the Batman the Animated Series line. And it was as impressive as I was hoping.

But DCC also had two more waves of figures and a few more special sets from the line to reveal.
