Hot Toys Teases The Dark Knight Rises Catwoman and Quarter Scale Batman

A couple of Hot Toys quickies tonight. First up, a couple of teases from The Dark Knight Rises. I’m sure Anne Hathaway got more than a few engines revving when she hopped on the Bat Pod. As the tease was double-billed as Catwoman and Selina Kyle, I’m wondering if we won’t see more than the skin-tight cat suit for this figure – would Hot Toys go so far as to give us a French maid’s uniform?

Interesting for Hot Toys to be going into the 1/4 scale size. I’d expect this Batman to have more detail and more accessories, but am curious as to what they will do with the articulation in the larger size. We’ll stay tuned to news from Ani-Com Hong Kong this weekend, where they will be revealing both figures. Wish I could be there!

Hot Toys Finally Reveals The Dark Knight Rises Bane and Camo Tumbler

I’ve been waiting for Hot Toys to reveal their version of Bane, and with The Dark Knight Rises opening on July 20, they waited almost until the last moment. Judging by the coincidental reveal of theĀ Camouflaged Tumbler, I guess Bane is going to have a Batmobile to call his own.

Don’t have your tickets yet? You can pre-order The Dark Knight Rises tickets on Fandango. I’m traveling this week, so I probably won’t get to see this until the end of the weekend. No spoilers! šŸ˜€

SDCC 2012: Mattel DC Universe Panel Video

While there was some overlap with the MattyPalooza panel that was earlier in the day yesterday, Mattel took the opportunity in their DC panel to announce their new retail lines for 2013 – Batman Unlimited, DC Universe Unlimited, and a Batman (Adam West) TV series line (to launch in fall 2013). We’ve posted pics earlier of Mattel’s new mystery line (Watchmen, spoilers!) andĀ DC Club Infinite Earths. Enjoy!

SDCC 2012: Square Enix Play Arts Kai Dominates Video Game Action Figures

Square Enix is totally killing it when it comes to action figures for video games. With licenses for Halo, Metal Gear Solid, Mass Effect 3, Tekken, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Tomb Raider, Hitman, Kingdom Hearts, Arkham Asylum, and more, they’re marking their territory for super-articulated, 8-inch scale premium figures.

But watch out – they’re also making the move from the little screen to the big one. It was a natural jump from properties like Bayonetta to Cowboy Bebop, but they also teased the license for Superman: Man of Steel. It seems a more daunting task to take on the likeness of a real person than a computer generated image. I can’t wait to see what they do with it.

SDCC 2012: Hot Toys Batman, Expendables, Metal Gear Solid, and Avengers

Hot Toys (3) (1280x853).jpg

Ready to get your mind blown? Hot Toys (via Sideshow Toys) had a number of 1/6 scale Batman vehicles on display, including the classic Batmobile from the 60’s show. I also snapped pics of a couple of Barney Ross figures from the Expendables, Metal Gear Solid, Batman, and Avengers figures.
