Just wanted to post a quick reminder that Mattel should have two items on sale on Mattycollector this Tuesday, September 15, at Noon EST. First there’s the Masters of the Universe Classics Webstor. For those of us who signed up for the MOTU Classics subscription, Webstor is the first figure in it – so subscription holders, I know Mattel has us conditioned to hit the site mid-month, but don’t order one unless you want an extra. 😀
Then there’s the Joker as a Gotham City Thug – that’s a mouthful, so I just think of him as Bank Robber Joker. However, as of this writing, the Mattycollector site does not yet have the Joker listed. I guess we still have the business day on Monday to get that listed, but I have a nagging feeling that maybe there’s a production or delivery issue that may delay this figure. We’ll see.
Tri-Klops may be the big item for me, but there’s a whole mess of stuff going up tomorrow, so be ready for some red screens of death.

I’m not exactly sure which Brave and the Bold and Dark Knight products are going up tomorrow, but posted pics of all that’s currently up there. Matty will also have a 1:24 die cast Lightning McQueen, so it could get a little crazy, with both action figure and Hot Wheels collectors converging on the site.
Mattel also posted a round-up of sorts of the latest Ask Matty sessions (AFP’s latest Ask Matty Round-Up was posted yesterday). They touch on a lot of sore spots, for example, $20 Dark Knight Movie Masters, bonus figures not in Club Eternia, and Gleek. Not sure if the explanations will soothe the folks who are raging over them, but at least Mattel understands that some people are upset. And a new hurt for folks on the east coast – Mattel won’t be at New York Comic-Con next year. That’s not surprising, since it’s in October, during the prime selling season for big box retailers.
Toys R Us is having a Buy One, Get Two Free sale on action figures from The Dark Knight. The sale is good through August 1.
You might have different luck in the store, but the way it’s coded on ToysRUs.com is that only the 5-inch movie line figures are eligible. However, the ad text claims that the sale is good on “ALL Dark Knight 6-inch figures.” Regardless, it’s a good opportunity to pick up some toys for your kids, your nephews and nieces, or the kid in you!
