NYCC 2013: Hasbro Marvel Legends Captain America Reveals

Hasbro NYCC Marvel Legends Captain America Reveals

We published some Instapics from the Hasbro shindig on the eve of NYCC, and they were kind enough to follow up with official press pictures. To kick us off, here’s the info on the upcoming products from Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which should hit shelves in January, a quarter before the April opening of the movie.

I’m most excited to see the Marvel Legends products, which are rebranded to the movies this year. So: Marvel Captain America Infinite Series 6-Inch Legends. That may not roll of the tongue like Marvel Legends does, but if it gets more product to shelves and in our hands, then I’m all for it.

The back of the packaging (see the Instapics) shows the Mandroid BAF plus army builders / villains to encourage multiple purchases. The first wave includes a Marvel Now! Captain America, Agents of HYDRA (Red Skull / Hydra Agent swap) and Soldiers of AIM (Baron Zemo / AIM Soldier swap). Can’t wait!

New Details on Marvel Legends Captain America Line from Previews

SDCC 2013 - Marvel Legends - Captain America Legends Previews October 2013 - Captain America

This month’s edition of Previews has got some great new details on the upcoming Captain America waves of Marvel Legends. As we heard from the Hasbro Marvel team at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Legends is getting rebranded to the movie properties in 2014. And just as Cap was the “First Avenger,” his line of Legends will be the first rebranded, as “Captain America: The Winter Soldier – Infinity Legends” – yeah, that’s a mouthful.

And that’s not all. Previews reports a five figure assortment split over two waves, with a Build-a-Figure, starting in January. If this is the group we saw at SDCC, then it’s comic book versions of Baron Zemo and a Marvel Now Captain America (not shown above), plus movie versions of the Winter Soldier, Black Widow, and Captain America. That leaves the BAF still to be revealed. Price per figure is still creeping up, at $22.99.

Thanks to Mark Hernandez at the Marvel Toylines group for the Previews info.

Win the Exclusive Rescue Version Hot Toys Captain America from Sideshow

I’d love to have the contest and giveaway budget that the good folks at Sideshow Toys seem to have. Here’s a contest on the Sideshow Facebook page for the Rescue version of Captain America that was a summer exclusive from Hot Toys last year. You’re going to have to do a little work for this one, though – they want you to share who would be Bucky to your Captain America. There’s already quite a few heartfelt tributes in there. Should be an inspirational read by the time the contest comes to a conclusion this Sunday.

Sideshow Collectibles - Who is your Bucky Giveaway

This version of Captain America is specific to the scene in the movie where Steve Rogers busts into Hydra headquarters in order to save his best friend, Bucky Barnes. We at Sideshow Collectibles want to know, who is your Bucky? Who would you risk your life to rescue from the clutches of a super villain organization? Why?

Our favorite Cap/Bucky story will receive a Hot Toys Captain America Rescue Version. Entries must be received by Sunday September 8, 2013 by 5pm, PST.

STGCC 2013: Preview Pics of Play Imaginative, Hot Toys, and Transformers by Jedd

STGCC 2013 Preview 1

Our good friend Jedd was at the Singapore Toy, Game, and Comic Convention for their preview day, and sent in these pictures. He writes in:

Today was preview day for STGCC and I managed to get some pictures. I have a couple of pictures of Play Imaginative’s Iron Man stuff, including the 6 inch scale Hammer drones. The Hot Toys Exclusives at the convention are: Joe Colton from GI JOE Retaliation, The Iron Man “Midas” Armour, Evil Superman from Superman III, and “Star-Spangled Man” Captain America. There’s also a Metroplex Transformer that is being brought in by The Falcon’s Hangar store.

Thanks a bunch, Jedd!
