Toy Guru was a day early with the mid-month edition of Ask Matty… or are we going to be a day late submitting questions for the next one? Thanks to him and Mattel for this round of Q&A.
1) How are the DC Universe Classics All-Star repaints like Batman and Green Lantern doing at retail? At least at the TRUs where I shop, they don’t stick around long. What are the plans to continue this past the fourth figure, and when will that fourth figure be revealed?
The TRU repaints are doing great. The fourth figure will be revealed at SDCC. We can’t confirm anything beyond that right now but hope to have news soon.
I didn’t go to Wizard World Philly, but because we had heard that Mattel would be introducing a new Masters of the Universe Classics figure (it turned out to be Carnivus) when the Masters line was getting inducted into the Toy Hall of Fame, I recruited my good friend Ayeffkay to go on my behalf. 1) I’m psyched that with the Green Lantern movie slated for next year, and great events in comics like Blackest Night and Brightest Day that more GL figures are on the way. Were the pictures of the Wal-Mart exclusive GL 5-pack in ToyFare of finished product with no more tweaks possible? Any words of encouragement for Sinestro fans who might still be looking for a great representation of him?
We are still tweaking the figures a bit to make sure they can hold their Lanterns. Sinestro is pretty final. We hope to still do a full new Sinestro down the road to make him even more accurate.

I’m not a big fan of repaints, but I am a big fan of metallic paints on a figure. So when I found out that Toys “R” Us was going to be releasing a modern version of Green Lantern with metallic green paint, I knew I had to pick this one up. TRU had already started their exclusive repaints with the DC Universe Classics All-Star Batman (which I actually haven’t seen yet in my local TRU’s). This week the Green Lantern repaints finally made it into Toys “R” Us stores. Let’s have a look at him!
