SDCC 2015: Two More Batman-Related Exclusives Coming from Mezco

Mez-Itz Poison Ivy announced and One:12 Collective Batman TDKR Mutant Leader teased

Mezco Convention Exclusives (with Poison Ivy Mez Itz)

Mezco has continued to be busy leading up to San Diego Comic-Con, with two more exclusives revealed for the show. First, they announced a Mez-Itz mini clip-on Poison Ivy. She’s all killer attitude wrapped up in a cute vinyl package, suitable as a key chain or zipper pull, for $8.

Second, they’ve collaborated with Entertainment Earth to put out a teaser for the One:12 Collective Mutant Leader from Frank Miller’s Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. We’d seen the mutant leader in Mezco’s display at NY Comic Con, but had not heard till now when and where he would be released. Entertainment Earth teased the news in a wrap-up of Mezco’s summer exclusives.

Incidentally, that feature also revealed another Batman variant from One:12 Collective, to be released exclusively at the Puerto Rico Comic Con. That’s limited to 300 pieces – a killer for completionists on the line.

Two-Bad Makes Mattycollector May Early Access a Can’t-Miss

Masters of the Universe Classics Rio Blast and DC Universe Classics Aquaman and Robin also available

Mattycollector May Sale

Blast Attak, this month’s Club Eternia figure, may be considered a dud by many Masters of the Universe Classics fans, but Early Access this month is sure to be a madhouse – that’s because Mattycollector is making Two-Bad available. As some of you may recall, during the subscription drive for the 2014 Club Eternia, Mattel announced that Two-Bad would have no day of sales inventory, leading to much angst from the fan base and presumably to more subscriptions.

What remains to be sold during is likely the customer service stock for the figure – so be prepared for a massive rush followed by a quick sell-out. Adding to the mayhem are two of the final DC Universe Classics figures – Aquaman with his hook hand and the Damian Wayne Robin, both with their own draw. Rio Blast rounds out Early Access.

Early Access has Two-Bad, Rio Blast, Aquaman and Robin, and opens tomorrow at 8AM PST. All Access adds Blast Attak, and will open up at 9AM on Friday.

Hot Toys Reveals Batman Returns Figures

Michael Keaton Batman available solo or with Bruce Wayne in set

Hot Toys Batman Returns Batman and Bruce Wayne

I know a lot of Batman fans that have a special place in their hearts for the Michael Keaton Batman. I’m fond of those movies and how they heralded the return of a more serious approach to the character on the big screen. But I can’t say I was a fan of Keaton in the role – he didn’t fit my image for an action movie star, and he didn’t fit my image for Bruce Wayne.

For those of you who do like Keaton as the Batman, Hot Toys has just revealed two more figures from the Batman Returns sequel. There’s Batman, of course, and then there’s Bruce Wayne. You can pre-order Batman individually, or in a set with Bruce Wayne at Sideshow Collectibles. I hope that Hot Toys continues to work on the Keaton head sculpt – it looks a little off to me at this stage.

Now who’s up for a Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman?

Webswipe: Batman v Superman Costumes and Batmobile Video – Bleacher Report

Batman v Superman costumes and Batmobile

With the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice teaser trailer officially released, Warner Bros. has allowed Bleacher Reports to publish a new video yesterday of NBA player DeAndre Jordan on a tour of the Batman 75th anniversary exhibit that’s part of the Warner Bros. Studio Tour. The exhibit houses many costumes, props, and vehicles from the Batman movies starring Keaton, Kilmer, Clooney, and Bale – but they surprised Jordan with the costumes and Batmobile from the latest movie too.

With the focus on Batman, the video gives some nice close-ups of the newest Batsuit, including the cowl, the chest emblem, gauntlets, and utility belt. But it also gives a brief glance at the costumes of Superman and Wonder Woman. Not much new with Superman’s duds, but with Wonder Woman we get to see how it looks compared to the heavily processed teaser image of Gal Gadot in costume. It looks much more colorful and in line with her palette from the comic books. And then of course, there’s a lot of quick cuts showing off the Batmobile. How are you liking them?

Webswipe: Gotham Action Figures Coming from Diamond Select Toys – TV Insider

Diamond Select Toys Gotham action figures

If you thought DC Collectibles had the lock on action figures for DC’s live action TV shows, Diamond Select has got news for you. They’re producing action figures for Gotham, the hit TV show that Fox renewed for a second season back in January. The first wave, which we’ll see in person at San Diego Comic-Con this summer, will include Jim Gordon, Oswald Cobblepot, and Selina Kyle.

Similar to how DST handled the Sin City Select action figures, the Gotham figures will be in 7-inch scale and come with play sets, like the pier base that comes with Cobblepot. No word yet if they’ll use the “Select” style packaging in use for Marvel, Star Trek, and Sin City or if the line will be known as Gotham Select. But we do know to expect the figures this fall, for $24.99 a pop.
