NECA and WizKids Reveal San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive Marvel HeroClix Shuma Gorath

shuma-feat-1200

Dr. Strange has had pretty good action figures in both Marvel Legends and Marvel Universe, but haven’t really had any of his signature villains available to battle. And while this San Diego exclusive HeroClix Shuma Gorath may work for MU and might be a bit of a stretch for ML, I’m still pretty psyched to see it from WizKids – it’s about time! One of the coolest features is his articulated eye, which is movable via an eye knob at the back of his head(?)

Shuma Gorath will cost $50 at SDCC, and WizKids will also have a trio of DC heroes, Pandora, the Question, and Phantom Stranger, for $24.99.

Play Imaginative to Release Jim Lee Super Alloy Superman Exclusive Edition at SDCC

Play Imaginative New 52 Superman Exclusive Edition

Play Imaginative has whipped up an Exclusive Edition of its Super Alloy New 52 Superman that will be available at San Diego Comic-Con. It joins the Super Alloy New 52 Batman that is being re-released for SDCC after an initial release at the Singapore Toy, Games, and Comic Convention last year.

No word if this version of Superman will be any different than the Super Alloy Superman planned for general release – if it’s the same, it should feature a second head with heat vision eyes and a crystal fortress base that houses a fan to give the fabric cape the windblown look. Superman will be priced at $360, and we’ve heard Batman will go for $300. Both figures will be available at the Yes Anime booth #4729.

If You Like Superhero Movies, Check Out This Movie Poster Sale at Tanga

Tanga is calling this a “Framed Superhero Movie Poster Liquidation” but that’s underselling the cool factor. They’re over half off retail price, and they are framed and ready to hang – no more push pins and ruined posters for you. With the non-glare plexiglass, these will be a respectable addition to your man-cave that even your significant other can’t complain about – not legitimately, anyways.

And best of all, the sale is agnostic to Marvel (Spider-Man, Iron Man, Avengers, Thor, Hulk, Wolverine, and the Fantastic Four) and DC (Superman, Batman, and Green Lantern) and even includes posters from classic movies like Flash Gordon.

With a custom frame built just for your new poster, ready to hang, complete any movie room, office, or bedroom with these classic and timeless posters! Using a special non glare Plexiglass, your poster will look its best from any angle even in highly lit areas!

DC Collectibles Reveals New 52 Lex Luthor in Time-Lapse Digital Sculpting Video

DC Collectibles New 52 Lex Luthor Digital Sculpt ACTION COMICS #23.3 LEX LUTHOR

Superman’s arch-nemesis Lex Luthor will be joining the DC Collectibles line of New 52 action figures, as revealed in a video blog of their digital sculpting approach. I’m a fan of Lex’s armored look, but I haven’t really been following a lot of DC Comics since the New 52 re-launch – so I’m not really sure if there’s been a definitive armored look for him.

Digital sculpting has likely reduced the cycle times and cost of action figure design, but probably not to the point where we can see figures hit shelves concurrent with the latest comic book looks. They’ve gotten a lot closer though, as evidenced by the New 52 line.
