Who is Your Best of 2012 Action Figure?

Best of 2012 Hopefuls

As we close in on the end of the year, I’ve been trying to figure who will make it to my short list of best action figures for 2012. I think I’ll have a tougher time this year than I had choosing my Best of 2011 figures, topped by the Marvel Universe Sentinel.

With one of my favorite lines, DC Universe Classics, scaling back, my collection became a little more varied this year. Masters of the Universe Classics remained a mainstay, but I also branched out into Square Enix’s Play Arts Kai lines, especially Street Fighter. And with more 3A Toys releases coming in the 1/12 scale, the Adventure Kartel Zombs became an expensive army building exercise. It also helped that this year saw the relaunch of Marvel Legends – oh how I’ve missed you, ML! There’s more – I had to pick up the fearsome foursome from the Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line from Playmates. And Diamond Select Toys’ Marvel Minimates continued to put out tiny offerings that were too cute to pass up.

I’m sure as I look through the stuff I’ve picked up throughout the year, I’ll find even more figures that could top the list. But if you’ve got some obvious winners that I’ve missed, be sure to let me know. I’ve got some Free Stuff that could head your way, as I make room for the New Year!

MattyCollector 12/17 Sale Has Lots You Can Buy, but Some Deliveries will be Delayed

MattyCollector 12-17 Sale

With Granymyr, Mosquitor, and Procrustus from Masters of the Universe Classics; Platinum, Tin, and Lead for DC Universe Classics; and the final Justice League Unlimited 3-pack with Toyman, Firefly, and Dr. Destiny; there’s plenty that will be on sale on Monday. But Mattel also sent out email yesterday saying that shipments that include Granymyr or Procrustus would be delayed.

We’ve seen Matty doubling up on both MOTUC and DCUC the past two months due to delays caused by our good friend “Logistics” – so it’s no surprise that we’re still seeing the impact of the back up this month. I am guessing that we aren’t seeing the delayed products moving to January because the income statement doesn’t like 2012 product moving to 2013.

As always, for convenience, here’s the link to the MattyCollector bundle page for the 12/17 sale.

Get the DC Collectibles Just-Us-League of Stupid Heroes for Half Off

Subscribers to the DC Entertainment newsletter were offered the DC Collectibles MAD Magazine Alfred E. Neuman mascot inspired Just-Us-League of Stupid Heroes action figures at half off. In addition to Superman, Batman, Robin, and Aquaman, you will also be able to pick up the rest of that usual gang of idiots. Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Flash, the Joker (is he really in the Just-Us-League?) , and a particularly hideous-looking Wonder Woman are all there for half price too.

Try this link to see if you can get the discount on the MAD Just-Us-League figures too. If it works, you should see a small message at the top of the web page saying you’ll get half off the items on the page.

The sale is supposed to be exclusive to newsletter readers, but hopefully I can share it with you. Against the rules? What me worry?
