Vote for Your Favorite Captain America Minimate

On ToyRUs.com through Memorial Day, you’ll be able to vote for your favorite Minimate Captain America design. The top four selections will be collected into an exclusive Toys R Us box set from Art Asylum, celebrating the return of Steve Rogers, the original Captain America. The six designs to choose from include:

  • World War II (Golden Age)
  • Suspended Animation (Silver Age)
  • The Captain (80s)
  • Armored Captain America (90s)
  • Civil War Captain America (00s)
  • Captain America Re-Birth (current)

I picked the Silver Age suspended animation version, because he comes with a half-melted block of ice. Cast your vote now!

San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive DC Universe Classics Plastic Man Packaged Pics

As we’ve come to expect from Mattel, the SDCC DC Universe Classics Plastic Man packaging is outstanding. It’s made to look like Plas himself, and the removable and wearable glasses are simply great touches.

Plastic Man Packaging Shapes Up to Be Super Special

DCU Fans,

One of the SDCC figures we know you’re stoked to see is the one and only malleable immortal, Plastic Man. Being that he’s a super hero and all, we felt his packaging should be equally impressive and here’s your first look!

This special packaging has been shaped to look like Plastic Man himself and it comes in a full-color shipper box for safe keeping. But the coolest thing of all? A pair of Plastic Man glasses are included that can be removed from the package and worn by you!

The figure itself has interchangeable standard arms, stretchy arms, giant form hands (a fly swatter and a bouncy ball with racket), and interchangeable stretchy neck and leg springs. If you do purchase Plastic Man at SDCC, he’ll also come with a special suitcase available only at the show (packed in a separate poly bag). Not just any suitcase, of course… his arms, head and neck can be attached to the suitcase to make him appear disguised as luggage. Inside the suitcase is a chip-art comic book cover from the 75 years of DC Comics.

Can’t make it to SDCC? Don’t worry; Plastic Man (sans suitcase) will be available here on MattyCollector.com after the show, so keep your eye on this spot for more details!

Retailer Exclusive WWRp Bertie Photo Contest – Failed Entry Number One

Last night I posted about OneSixthBruce’s photo contest to win a retailer exclusive WWRp Bertie. I think the three new colorways all look awesome, so I want to enter.

The theme is “every day 3a” – and you’re meant to take a picture of you with a 3A toy. Here was my first attempt:

I’ve been picking up singles of the Dirty Deeds 12-pack individually on eBay (I hadn’t started collecting these yet when they originally went on sale), and had been wanting to take pictures of them. So I took a picture of one of them using the photo backdrop I made a while back, and added my severed head – this version of the Dirty Deeds Bertie comes with 3 severed heads.

Unfortunately, I hadn’t yet seen the contest rule that plainly states, “No Photoshop to be used!” – back to the drawing board!

Win a Retailer Exclusive WWRp Bertie – OneSixthBruce’s Photo Contest

3A Toys has been shipping the retail versions of the Mk2 Berties from the World War Robot portable line to their retail partners (check out the Bambaland exclusive 7-pack and Dirty Deeds 12-pack). As a bonus to their retailers, they’re also shipping some retailer exclusives to selected partners.

OneSixthBruce, a UK-based retailer, is holding a photo contest to give away these exclusives. The contest is open until June 30th, and if you win, you only pay shipping. I *must* win that Ghost Hunter exclusive! 🙂

ThreeA WWRp retail exclusives GiveAway

This is it guys, our OSB threeA WWRp Retail Exclusives giveaway.

We have thought long and hard about how to do the giveaway, and we weren’t keen on just pulling a name from a hat – that’s boring, maybe fair but boring!!

You need to work for this giveaway!

The theme is ‘every day threeA’.

We want you guys to take a picture of any threeA toy and post it up on OSB wall (which will automatically put your picture into the fan page album).

We want to see pics of you and your threeA toys in your everyday life.

Hasbro Marvel San Diego Comic-Con Exclusives Press Pics – ToyFare 155

Lots of coverage of San Diego Comic-Con Exclusives in the latest ToyFare magazine, so pick up your copy today. We first heard about the Marvel Universe Ultimate Captain America and Ages of Thunder Thor exclusives back at Toy Fair – yes, ToyFare (the magazine) and Toy Fair (the industry show) – I still get confused.

And we knew the one who hungers was coming to retail, but just found out about the SDCC version of the Marvel Universe Galactus recently.  He’ll come with the lights and sounds, but won’t come with Silver Surfer. I’m still trying to fathom just how big the cardback is going to be. I know it says 27 inches, but it’s hard to wrap my brain around that. Awesome!

EXCLUSIVE: Hasbro Marvel SDCC Exclusives

If you picked up ToyFare #155 (on sale now, donchaknow!), you have borne witness to something pretty awesome: three of Hasbro’s sure-to-be-red-hot exclusives for July’s San Diego Comic-Con. But since the only glimpse we gave you of Ultimate Captain America and Ages of Thunder Thor was our super-artsy cover image, I decided to throw some more images up on our blog of the figures under non-fancy lighting. Please note that these were prototypes, so the final paints probably won’t end up looking exactly like this. Ready for your WORLD-EXCLUSIVE?

And just for good measure, here’s the other Marvel SDCC exclusive from Hasbro: the 19-inch Galactus in an exclusive 27-inch tall blister card, featuring artwork by Joe Quesada!
