DC Universe Classics Wave 16 Found At Target Today

Hey all you DCUC Fans!

I saw a couple reports on the Fwoosh DC Universe Classics Wave 16 Discussion Thread that collectors in the southeast were finding DCUC 16 at Targets today, so I saddled up, trucked on over to the local Target and, POW, there they were! I picked up the 3 you see in the hastily snapped pic and left Creeper, GA Head Robin and All Star Wave 10 Batman on the shelf. Mercury and Az-Bats were MIA.

I hope this means that Target has blown out all their old DCUC stock and are going to come back strong with the new Waves because the 3 Wal-Marts here have removed DCUC from their Toy Departments.

I’ll have some more DCUC 16 pics up soon!

Fantastic Exclusive Gothitropolis Scarabus Paint Sample Recap

We just got the first Scarabus paint sample in the other day, and we’re so excited about it we couldn’t wait to share it with you!
There are a couple of minor paint tweaks to be taken care of, but for their first pass we’re extremely impressed!
More sh…

I was hoping for more Scarabus shots from the Four Horsemen for a their Four Horsemen Fridays feature, but I’m guessing they’re very busy getting ready for their Toypocalypse show, which starts this upcoming Friday.

I believe the last shot in this set is of a painted 2-up prototype that they used in a recent photo shoot. It’s pretty cool to see how the smaller figure is matching up with its 2-up. I always expect the production figures to be a downgrade in quality – I haven’t seen that with Scarabus, so the bar is set pretty high.

There are a couple of minor paint tweaks to be taken care of, but for their first pass we’re extremely impressed!

More shots to come in the next couple of days with some of the alternate parts in place, but for today here are a few front and rear shots of Scarabus in his basic form, along with one of his little Time Keeper buddies sporting his new Time Keeper War Armor!

One-of-a-Kind Outer Space Men Set

Wow – how cool is this? The Four Horsemen have been running contests on their message boards. This unique, one-of-a-kind set of the Outer Space Men was the prize for one of them.

What the heck are these bronze looking Outer Space Men? Well they’re the prize from a little contest we had waaaaay back just before the OSM were first announce to the public.

We were revealing a lot of super close-up, blurry images and allowing our message board members on FANtastic Exclusive to try to guess what classic action figure line those images represented.

After pages of really great guesses, long time FANatic Ed Waysek (EdComics) came up with the right answer and won himself a one-of-a-kind full set of the first four Outer Space Men urethane castings with a faux bronze finish!

They’re (finally) winging their way to Ed right now via Fed-Ex and we’re sure he’ll have lots to say about them on the FANtastic Forums in the next day or two.

There was another contest a while back where message board members were asked to help us pick a name for this “new” website of ours, and we’ll be announcing the winner of that really soon as well. What will that winner get as a prize? Now that would be telling. Where’s the fun in that?

Congrats again, Ed!

DC Universe Classics Custom Sinestro Corps Sinestro

I picked up Green Lantern Classics Wave 1 last week and decided to use one of the Sinestro Corps bodies to knock out a quick and easy custom I’ve been wanting to do for over a year. Back in December of 2009, I found a good deal on a DC Direct SC Sinestro for $9 and knowing how coveted this particular figure is, I snapped it up like an avaricious Orange Lantern. My reasoning for it was that, sometime in the mist shrouded future, I would use parts from it to make a much more imposing and dangerous looking Sinestro than we got in DCUC 3. That time has come.

Four Horsemen Announce More Details on Toypocalypse and Exclusive Scarabus Set

Limited to only 200 sets, the ultra-exclusive set of two Scarabus figures (Scarabi?), dubbed the “Dark and Light Talisman” set, will be available at Toypocalypse and then on storehorsemen.com. I think the $100 price tag will give some collectors pause, and I wonder just how many people who pick this up will actually open them up.

Scarabus figures to be debuted and sold in celebration of the Toypocalypse: A Four Horsemen Retrospective gallery show!

If you’ve been following the news surrounding the Four Horsemens first gallery show, Toypocalypse, then you probably know that they’re going to be selling black and white versions of their character Scarabus at the event.

Even though the Four Horsemen expect these special edition sets to sell out quickly, you’re not going to be completely out of luck if you cant make it to the show!

The Dark Talisman Scarabus & Light Talisman Scarabus figure sets will be available at the Toypocalypse show at the TT Underground Gallery, beginning the evening of February 11th, for $100.00 per set and will be limited to only 100 sets for sale at TT Underground!

Then, the following week – to celebrate the closing of Toypocalypse – beginning at 9:00pm EST, on February 18th, the Four Horsemen will begin selling another 100 sets of Dark Talisman Scarabus & Light Talisman Scarabus through their online retail outlet, Store Horsemen, also priced at $100.00 per set plus shipping. These sets will be virtually the same as the sets that are to be sold at the Toypocalypse event, with a slight, albeit significant, packaging alteration to be unveiled at a later date.
