Masters of the Universe Classics Panthor and Weapons Pak and Rack Press Pics

Mattel revealed a couple more Masters of the Universe Classics items – first, the March monthly figure, Panthor! I’m a little confused by the naming convention – Battle Cat was listed as an over-sized figure with a $30 price tag, and I’d expected the same for Panthor. We’ll find out the deal here.

The Great Wars Weapons Pak is coming out in November, and the Weapons Rack is due sometime next Spring.

I’m looking forward to seeing what’s new from the Four Horsemen this weekend at New York Comic Con!

We’re only going to be able to make it to the New York Comic Con on opening day – Friday (Oct. 8th), so if you’re going to be there, we’d love for you to stop by and say “hey”!

We’re going to be doing signings at multiple booths at different times throughout the day, so below is our schedule so you’ll know where and when to find us.

Both Toy Tokyo and Action Figure Xpress will be selling extremely limited exclusive Outer Space Men figures for us to sign for you (see previous releases below for more info) and we’ll have some special give away items at the Big Kev’s Geek Stuff booth!

Hope to see you at NYCC 2010!

AFP Ask Matty Round-Up for 10/1/10

Hey Mattel fans – it’s time for the newest Q&A session of Ask Matty!  Thanks to Toy Guru and the gang at Mattel, and happy Friday!

1) You’ve told us that a Masters of the Universe Classics vehicle is planned for late next year. Have you started the product design process? How has the Four Horsemen’s Battle Ram influenced what you will produce for the line?

We have begun preliminary design work. The Horsemen “pitch” vehicle was more of there way of saying, “We can do vehicles too,” since they did not do the vehicles in the 200X line. We are excited to have them on board as we review which vehicle to do!

You can find more pics of the Battle Ram prototype in our SDCC 2010 coverage of the Four Horsemen.

Four Horsemen Outer Space Men Pre-Orders and Packaged Pics

We already posted about the Outer Space Men pre-order, but here’s some really nice packaged shots of the two sets of figures. Check out the earlier announcement that includes pics of the figures loose.

Pre-orders for the Four Horsemen’s first licensed property, The Outer Space Men, will begin this Friday, October 1st, at 9:00pm EST! Available exclusively through their own online retail outlet – Store Horsemen (http://www.StoreHorsemen.com), the regular edition Outer Space Men figures will be available as two sets of pairs, or as a complete set of all four.

Wave 1 consists of Astro-Nautilus: The Man from Neptune and Metamorpho: The Man from Alpha Centauri. Each modular figure is approximately 3-3/4” tall, comes with their own cool accessories, and on their own collector friendly blister card. The pair will be $22.00, plus shipping & handling.

Being released simultaneously with wave 1, wave 2 will be Inferno: The Flame Man of Mercury and Xodiac: The Man from Saturn. Each modular figure is approximately 3-3/4” tall, comes with their own cool accessories, and on their own collector friendly blister card. The pair will be $22.00, plus shipping & handling.

Or get a special discount if you buy all four OSM figures as a set! You’ll get Astro-Nautilus, Metamorpho, Xodiac and Inferno all on their own collector friendly blister cards for only $40.00, plus shipping & handling!

Seen here are four pre-production packaged samples.

Pre-Order the Regular Edition Outer Space Men Starting 10/1

Judging by how all the variants leading up to the regular release of the Outer Space Men have been selling out, it looks like the Four Horsemen have a retro chic hit on their hands. These production samples look really nice. I haven’t yet taken the plunge into these figures or the Glyos figures from Onell Design, but Talyn’s recent review of the Glyos figures is piquing my interest.

We’ll see if I still have my Glyos cherry after New York Comic Con.

That’s right! The time has come! The regular edition Outer Space Men figures are in production now and are expected to arrive at Four Horsemen Studios in less than a month!

All four figures will go up for pre-order exclusively through Store Horsemen this Friday, October 1st at 9:00pm EST and will be available as two sets of pairs, or as a complete set of all four.

Wave 1 consists of Astro-Nautilus: The Man from Neptune and Metamorpho: The Man from Alpha Centauri. Each figure comes on his own blister card the pair will be $22.00, plus shipping & handling.

Wave 2 will be Inferno: The Flame Man of Mercury and Xodiac: The Man from Saturn. Each figure comes on his own blister card the pair will be $22.00, plus shipping & handling.

Or get a special discount if you buy all four OSM figures as a set! You’ll get Astro-Nautilus, Metamorpho, Xodiac and Inferno all on their own blister cards for only $40.00, plus shipping & handling!

By the way, the photos below? Those are no longer paint-master shots you’re looking at! Those are ACTUAL PRODUCTION SHOTS of the regular edition Outer Space Men!!

The factory has done a SPECTACULAR job on every Outer Space Men wave they’ve done for us so far, and the regular edition waves are no exception! We’d like to publicly thank the guy that runs the show at the factory –Paul Wai, all of his hard working artistic crew over there, and especially Matt & Jesse and everyone else over at Onell Design! Without them, this new OSM line would still only be a dream.
