Maybe you weren’t ready to make the commitment back when the outcome was uncertain. But Castle Grayskull *is* getting made, and the pre-orders close out Friday morning at 9AM PST. It’s a new year, so can you commit now? Diamond Select Toys Taunts the EPA with Mini Ghost Storage Facility – Ghostbusters Firehouse Statue Coming Soon

Ghostbusters 3 may be in development hell without Bill Murray, but toy fans will still get a Ghostbusters fix from Diamond Select Toys, who are producing a seven-inch tall replica of the Ghostbusters firehouse.

At that height it’s a touch too small even for the Ghostbusters Minimates, but I really want to see this with the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man that Mattel sold as a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive back in 2011.

Mattel Gift Pak Palooza Sale Today Through 1/4

Mattel is making spirits bright by offering Masters of the Universe Classics and Ghostbusters multi-packs for sale starting today and running through January 4 or while supplies last.

The deals aren’t quite as rich as the MattyCollector Black Friday / Cyber Monday sale, but with each pack you will be getting $10 off a set of 3 MOTUC figures and $5 off of 2 Ghostbusters – more if you consider the prices were bumped up from $20 to $22 this year.

For the Masters of the Universe Classics figures, I wonder how long these will manage to stay in stock – a month seems like a long time. If they do manage to last it out, then I suppose Mattel has got a lot of inventory of the figures they decided to keep in stock all the time, like He-Man and Skeletor. And I’m still confused about the concept of day of stock and reserve stock – I don’t know if variant figures like Battle Armor Skeletor and Hordak were overproduced, because they sold out just like all the rest of them, or if there’s just a lot of figures left that were held in reserve for defects / replacement.

And Ghostbusters… with the subscription not moving forward this line suffered a long and slow end. I wonder if the performance of Ghostbusters has had anything to do with why we haven’t seen a figure line for Back to the Future. But then, we’re talking about a limited cast with characters that have even less potential for reuse. Still, it makes you wonder how NECA can keep churning out Predators.

Who knows? Maybe BTTF will be the surprise this coming Toy Fair. Anyways, happy shopping!

MattyCollector Doubles Up on Masters of the Universe and DC Universe Classics Again on 11/15

I guess our old friend, Logistics, has struck again, because just like last month, we’ve got double helpings of both Masters of the Universe Classics and DC Universe Classics again this month. For Club Eternia, it’s the Filmation Randor and Dekker, with a bonus of Castle Grayskull Man wrapping up the 30th Anniversary sub. For Club Infinite Earths, it’s Uncle Sam and Constantine.

Is it just me, or is this month’s offerings lacking a big hitter? Rounding out the lineup is the final Ghostbusters offering, Courtroom Ray, who makes for a pretty tame send-off for the line that I think most people hoped would deliver more; and a (final?) JLU 3-pack.

Maybe Matty should have extended the Castle Grayskull (congrats, folks!) pre-order minimum cut-off to today – at least there’d be some excitement. Here’s the bundle page for 11/15 for your convenience.

MattyCollector.com Ghostbusters Halloween Sale – Today Only!

Mattel has gotten into the Halloween spirit by offering almost but not quite 1/3 off of a handful of items – that is, if you’re the Ghostbusters logo ghost, who has just four fingers and coincidentally ships with Ray Stantz, one of the sales figures today. The unslimed Peter Venkman, Ray, and the Rookie should go for $15.18 each, and the PKE Meter is a great deal for a movie prop with electronics and motion at $48.30. So, who ya gonna call? Digital River?
