WebSwipe: Star Wars Black Series Wave 3 Promo Pics – YodasNews.com

Star Wars Black Series wave 3 - yodasnews.com

Speaking of Star Wars, news site YodasNews.com has hi-res images of Star Wars Black Series wave 3. We had seen some of this previously, when Hasbro added Obi Wan Kenobi to their booth at SDCC, and after Star Wars Celebration Europe for the Stormtrooper and Luke. But this gives us a better look at the Bespin Luke Skywalker that will hit shelves – the earlier shot had its head tilted down and looked like an early shot of the paint master. Hasbro also released an official pic of Anakin Skywalker for their NYCC pre-party.

I am really enjoying this line so far – my one desire would be more paint apps, particularly with the eyes – would like to see less of the G.I. JOE eyes in this line.

Star Wars Black Series Tattooine “On Location” Quick Pics

Darth-Maul Sandtroopers-with-R2-D2

Several weeks ago, I snapped a picture on my desk at home for a quick Instagram shot – it featured some Sandtroopers searching for droids. I liked the idea so much that I resolved to recreate it “on location,” so to speak. But my neighborhood has got a lot of hills and trees. Just finding an unobstructed horizon with sky in the background is almost impossible without taking a drive. So I had scouted out where I might find some patches of dirt using Google Maps (thank you satellite view) and headed out there the next day. I had a dentist appointment first thing that morning, and I was a little rushed, so I grabbed my camera and my figures in a ziploc and headed out the door.

After my appointment, I drove to the location, which was a park / trail / dog park by the bay. The best spot I found was on top of a hill with the bay in the background, but it was so windy the Sandtroopers kept falling over. After much fiddling, I finally got a stable set up, and pulled out my camera – NO MEMORY CARD. Doh!

I snapped some pictures with my phone, but not really being able to see them that well on site, I discovered later that the bay was in most of them. So much for the illusion of a desert planet! The Darth Maul shot was a quick Photoshop job to make the bay look more like desert sand in the background. The Sandtrooper / R2 shot looks a little grainy, but somehow I think it makes it look more like a vintage shot.

And in case you missed it, Entertainment Earth has Star Wars Black Series wave 2 in stock with free shipping. Go get them!

Star Wars Black Series Wave 2 In Stock with Free Shipping at Entertainment Earth

If you thought you’d need help finding the latest Star Wars figures from Hasbro, look no further – Entertainment Earth has just got Star Wars Black Series wave 2 in stock, with free shipping. They’re only available as a full case for $79.99, which means one of each figure of Han Solo, Princess Leia (in slave outfit, hubba hubba), and bounty hunters Greedo and Boba Fett.

Bounty hunters – we don’t need that scum.

Actually, I still need Greedo! If you’re like me and already have Boba Fett from SDCC, you can still pre-order Han, Leia, and Greedo individually at Amazon. Oddly enough Boba Fett is already pre-sold out. They’re listed at $22.99, but Amazon had the pricing like that for wave 1 but reduced it to $19.99 before shipping – and you’d be covered by their pre-order price guarantee. Happy shopping!

Border Patrol: DC Universe Classics Talon, Marvel Legends Ms. Marvel, and Star Wars Black Series Galen Marek Starkiller

DC Universe Classics New 52 Talon by Draubner – I’m not following the New 52, so I’ll have to take it on faith that this custom is true to the comics – but I dig the costume design, and think the custom is well-realized, whether it’s comic-accurate or not – no idea what is kitbashed and what is sculpted, and that’s the sign of a good custom – ends Oct 23, 2013 14:17:00 PDT

In AFP’s Border Patrol, we scour active eBay auctions for customized action figures that you won’t want to let slip by!

Transformers Piranacon by frenzyrumble – when a custom tops $1K, you know it’s special – this combiner was originally a commission, but I suppose an unlucky collector was not able to pay – ends Oct 16, 2013 18:00:21 PDT
