This week we get a closer look at some of the painstaking work during design. DC Universe Classics Christopher Reeves Superman by matthancock – I think this custom bears a reasonably close likeness to Christopher Reeves – in addition to the head sculpt, there’s some nice added details like the collar line for the costume and some not quite washboard abs to differentiate it from a standard DCUC Supes – ends Jun 25, 2013 18:21:09 PDT

I’ve been trying to get myself pumped up about Hasbro’s Marvel Universe exclusive for San Diego Comic-Con. I love Deadpool, so you’d think that six versions of Deadpool in taco truck packaging would be right up my alley. While the packaging truly is glorious, it’s tough to see this as more than a bunch of missed opportunities. Deadpool himself looks to be recycled from one of the figures back from Wolverine Origins, and while they added the floaties (a great touch) you’d think if they were going to add an alternate head, they could have included Headpool / Zombie Deadpool. Lady Deadpool and the Champ are nice representations of the comic book characters, but I really do hate the book – Rob Liefeld artwork – need I say more?
