Hasbro Iron Man 3 Marvel Legends Series 1 with Build-A-Figure Iron Monger at eBay

Marvel Legends Iron Man Wave 1 Set

When we saw the line-up for Iron Man Marvel Legends at BigBadToyStore a couple weeks ago, I wondered if, with just three figures in the wave, if the Iron Monger Build-A-Figure that Hasbro teased back at San Diego Comic-Con would still be part of the line. Now that Hasbro Iron Man 3 Marvel Legends is hitting eBay, we know the answer is a resounding “Yes!” It’s going to take six figures across two waves to do it, and if Hasbro can improve the distribution that we saw with Hulk Legends and Fin Fang Foom, we should be in pretty good shape.

Indie Comics Action Figures – GBJR Toys and David Vonner Updates

Indie Spotlight by GBJR ToysDavid Vonner teaser

If you told me I’d one day be writing about Geoff Beckett and Dave Vonner in a single post I’d ask you what Bizarro world we’ve been transported to. Apparently, it’s one in which Bizarro does not exist, because both guys just might be making action figures from independent comics real soon.

Design Your Own Armor with Hasbro’s Iron Man 3 “Iron Assemblers” Action Figures

A2973 War Machine

Tony Stark has nothing on you – with Hasbro’s upcoming Iron Assemblers line from Iron Man 3, you’ll have the ability to design your own Iron Man armors for a completely customized armory. You may have seen Hasbro’s announcement of the new line at USAToday.com – they’ve followed it up with these pics and the official press release. I’m glad to see these are 3.75-inches – the USA Today piece listed a confusing 3.25-inches – so these should hopefully be scale-compatible with your existing line of movie and Marvel Universe figures.

I like the idea – it’s a creative mash-up of the action figure and builder categories, and Iron Man is a great property for this kind of product. With a single figure, Hasbro says you’ll be able to create 25 or more variations. But the real kicker is that the armor parts can be combined across figures, for hundreds of possibilities from the line’s planned 16 individual figures.

Hasbro Marvel Legends 2013 Wave 1 Hyperion and Red She-Hulk

Marvel Legends 2013 - Hyperion and Red She-Hulk

To close out the week, here’s the two Marvel Legends 2013 wave 1 figures that are introducing new body types to the line – Hyperion and Red She-Hulk. Both figures also come with parts of the mini-Build-A-Figure, Hit Monkey, but I’ll be taking a look at him in a future update. For now, let’s take a closer look at these two.

Hasbro Marvel Legends 2013 Wave 1 Wolverine and Archangel

Marvel Legends 2013 - Wolverine and Archangel

I figured after posting the group shot and packaged pics of HML 2013 wave 1, I would ease us in with the two figures that are purely re-decos – Wolverine and Archangel, who were both in Hasbro’s SDCC exclusive Uncanny X-Force 3-pack last summer. I’ll admit that when I first saw at San Diego that Hasbro would be reissuing these figures in just a few month’s time, I had flashbacks to the SDCC 2011 exclusive Marvel Legends Thor and his subsequent re-release in the first wave of (Return of) Marvel Legends. With Thor, at first I was disappointed with the announcement but was ultimately pleased with the retail re-release – and with these two X-Men, I went through the same.
