Hot Toys Announces the Winter Soldier from Captain America

I’m worried that because the Winter Soldier was such a fantastic story line in Ed Brubaker’s Captain America comics that my expectations for Captain America: The Winter Soldier are unduly high. With a week to go before the movie opens, Hot Toys has revealed their figure of the former Bucky (can anyone consider that a spoiler?)

No disappointment with the figure – aside from that I haven’t seen a pre-order for him yet. But the “Golden Age” Captain America that Hot Toys revealed earlier is now up for pre-order at Sideshow Toys for $209.99. I’m sure the Winter Soldier will be up there soon.

Hot Toys Reveals “Golden Age” Cap from Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Hot Toys may be calling this the “Golden Age” version of the Captain America suit, but we all have seen that there are differences between the Captain America suits from The First Avenger and The Winter Soldier (and if you enter the Hot Toys contest before tomorrow, you’ll get a chance to win some Hot Toys stuff from the Winter Soldier movie). We’ve seen the previews of the “Super Soldier” suit and Hot Toys also announced another Black Widow, but we’ve yet to see if they’ll be producing the Falcon.

No pre-orders for this new Cap yet, and I suppose that’s why they’ve got the “Movie Promo Edition” tag on the pictures, but you can keep this search for Hot Toys Captain America at Sideshow handy for when the pre-order does pop up. Two weeks to go for the movie!

Spot the Differences and Win Captain America Set from Hot Toys

Here’s a fun Friday contest from Hot Toys – spot a difference between the Cap costumes from The First Avenger and The Winter Soldier and you could win a set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier premiums! While you could leave a comment here (and we love it when you do), to enter the official contest you have to comment on the contest picture on Facebook. They’ll pick 10 winners at random.

As seen in the movie trailers, Steve Rogers will don a new version of his World War II Captain America suit to fight the Winter Soldier. Can you spot the differences on the costume from Captain America: The First Avengers and Captain America: The Winter Soldier?

Hot Toys Announces Black Widow from Captain America: The Winter Soldier

That didn’t take long – right after Hot Toys teased their upcoming Winter Soldier figures, they’ve announced their Black Widow from the upcoming Cap movie. This will be the third Black Widow from Hot Toys. The first was the long-haired Black Widow from Iron Man 2. The second was a shorter-haired but still curly version from the Avengers.

I think this straight-haired version sports the best likeness for ScarJo yet – but too close to the real thing means a somewhat vacant stare. With two previous figures, Hot Toys is keeping this basic with a dual pistols, a few sets of hands, and another pair of wrist shooters – I hope this means she’ll actually use them in this movie! Hot Toys Teases Captain America: The Winter Soldier Figures – Is the Falcon Coming?

Hot Toys teased its upcoming figures for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. As might be expected, we’ll eventually be seeing Cap in his regular and Super Soldier costumes, an updated Black Widow with straight hair, and the Winter Soldier. But they also re-posted Marvel’s Falcon movie poster. Is that his backpack in the teaser?

“Gear up. It’s time.” Marvel Studios’ upcoming blockbuster – Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be hitting the theatres worldwide in just a few weeks. Hot Toys is preparing a range of collectibles from the movie and will also be hosting exhibitions in a number of countries in the near future.
