JAKKS has changed its lineup for UFC Wave 2, including figures from Waves 0 and 1 and keeping only Antonio Nogueira, Mike Thomas Brown, and Nate Marquardt from the lineup originally published. There are no indications right now whether the re-released figures from Wave 0 and 1 will have new paint decos.
Dropped and presumably rescheduled for later waves are Bas Rutten, George St. Pierre, Lyoto Machida, Rampage Jackson, and Thiago Alves.
JAKKS Pacific has updated its UFC Facebook page with pics of the second wave of action figures. It looks like they’ve adjusted the head sizes a bit, at least on some of the fighters – the oversized noggins are the biggest drawback of the line for me.
I’ve only seen one UFC figure, of Houston Alexander, in stores since these started wave 0 started hitting stores recently. I like that they’re adding more articulation and added some new sculpts, however I think they’ve got to improve their heads – Alexander’s face scan was fine, but his cranium was just humongous.

For some reason I associated the new UFC line from JAKKS Pacific as a 2010 product, but they’re reporting on their Facebook page that Wave “0” is at Toys R Us and should be at Wal-Mart this upcoming week. I’m looking forward to new sculpts, but Brock Lesnar and some others are reminiscent of the WWE Deluxe Aggression torsos, and look very odd atop those peg legs.
