Q: What’s Better Than Storing Your Action Figures in Big Plastic Tubs? v2

A: Actually having space to display them! 🙂

A few months ago I wrote about having to dismantle my “toy room” because we had decided to put in new carpet, and then about getting to put together a new and improved display. This past weekend, I put the finishing touches on some upgrades.

New 3.75-Inch Iron Man 2 Action Figures Unveiled – PopEater.com

Congratulations to Hasbro for hooking into the pop media frenzy for Iron Man 2. PopEater.com has an exclusive reveal of never before seen action figures from Hasbro’s 3.75-inch Iron Man 2 line, including Black Widow and Nick Fury. They’ve also got unmasked versions of Iron Man in his Mark VI armor and War Machine.

‘Iron Man 2’ is sure to blow the roof off of the box office this summer, and as with any superhero or comic book movie, a full line of toys is set to accompany it. PopEater is proud to exclusively reveal the newest line of action figures from ‘Iron Man 2,’ with everyone from Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow to Samuel L. Jackson, who looks just as awesome in plastic as he does in real life, as Nick Fury. Throw in Mickey Rourke’s Whiplash and Don Cheadle’s War Machine, and we’ve got the entire movie … in miniature form.

Hasbro 3.75-Inch Iron Man 2 Concept Series – Hypervelocity Iron Man and Deep Dive Iron Man

Iron Man 2’s May 7th release date comes closer and Hasbro’s accompanying toyline has started to make appearances in retail! Last time we had a look at some figures from the Comic Series of the 3.75″ Iron Man 2 line, today we’re taking a look at the Hypervelocity Armor and the Deep Dive Armor from the line’s Concept Series.

From what I understand, these armor versions are not in the movie, nor are they part of the Iron Man comic continuity – rather they are concept explorations of how Iron Man armors can be designed for different uses. I guess it’s a chance for the toy designers to get creative and design their own different versions of Iron Man. I think it is a fitting idea. Tony Stark already has an array of armors for different environments and purposes, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if he had designs for a “Hypervelocity” or “Deep Dive” armor somewhere in his hard drive!

More Hasbro Robert Downey Jr. Iron Man Figure Pics

Remember that 6-inch Iron Man 2 figure with RDJ’s head sculpt? It wasn’t on display in the Hasbro showroom when the nerd herd went through for the Hasbro Collector Briefing, but we did find some pics, courtesy of Marvel’s own photo essay of the Marvel products on display at Toy Fair. We’ll stay tuned for another installment of Geek-lactus from Marvel’s Jesse Falcon.

The final stop on our tour was the Hasbro showroom, which was swamped with “Iron Man 2” toys, games and accessories.

On display at Hasbro were Iron Man Mark I, Mark IV and Mark VI action figures; a life-size Mark IV armor; build-your-own-armor cards with translucent additions and Repulsor gloves; and a wearable, talking Iron Man helmet. Iron Man’s Red Vortex car won Best Toy at the British Toy Fair, and was prominently displayed and did not disappoint.  Marvel’s Director of Merchandising–and one of the madmen behind “Marvel Super Heroes: What The–?!”–Jesse Falcon took us through all of the toys in the showroom, which included a walking, talking, repulsor-blasting Iron Man.

But it wasn’t all Iron Man at Hasbro! Browse through our Toy Fair 2010 image gallery to see photos of new Super Hero Squad figures, numerous Spider-Man toys and dozens of Marvel Universe 3.75″ heroes and villains!
