Border Patrol: Marvel Legends Captain America, Hulkbuster Iron Man, and Daredevil

For this edition of Border Patrol, we’re highlighting three iconic Marvel superheroes:

Marvel Legends Captain America by Shinobitron: This may be a simple kitbash using parts from the original Toy Biz Captain America with a more recent Cap re-release from Hasbro, but the clean paint job makes it exceptional. I am usually not a fan of that Hasbro body without the vest (see the original ML Drax) but with the Toy Biz head and gloves, it works well proportionally. Ends Sunday, May 24 at 7:57PM PST.
Marvel Legends Hulkbuster Iron Man by wilestbilame: The onslaught of Hulkbuster repaints using the Titan Heroes version has begun. This one is the first I’ve seen that shows another ML Iron Man (in this case Extremis) for scale – Hulkbuster is huge! Ends today at 8:14PM PST.
Here’s another ML Hulkbuster Iron Man that ends Thursday, May 21 at 5:17PM PST.
Marvel Legends Netflix Daredevil (red suit) by JLA: We’ve seen a few customs of the black suit (which I ended up preferring over this one), and now customizers have come up with recipes for the Gladiator-built suit revealed in the Netflix season 1 finale. Ends Wednesday, May 20 at 10:15PM PST.

Avengers: Ghost in the Machine Man – BillsComics.com

Bill has had his hands full moving and setting up a new home, but with Avengers: Age of Ultron in theaters now and Ant-Man not far behind, he managed to put together a new comic featuring (you guessed it) the Avengers with a special appearance by Ant-Man! Marvel Legends Hulkbuster Wave Hi-Res Pics

Hasbro has released hi-res pics of the upcoming Hulkbuster wave of Marvel Legends, and we’ve got them here in all their glory. The wave consists of War Machine from Avengers: Age of Ultron, the Marvel Now! Iron Man, Doctor Strange, the Vision, Blizzard, a re-do of Valkyrie, and Thundra from the Lady Liberators.

It looks like you’ll have to pick up all seven figures to make the build-a-figure Hulkbuster – not a surprise given its size. Pre-orders have not yet hit for the wave, but I’ll keep searching for Marvel Legends at Entertainment Earth and Amazon, for where I usually find the best deals on cases and individual figures respectively.

Border Patrol: Star Wars Chrome Trooper, Marvel Hulkbuster Iron Man, and Manny Pacquiao

For this edition of Border Patrol, we’ve got three custom action figures from the big (or little) screen.

Star War Black Series Chrome Trooper Captain Phasma by moomoo1366: One of the many exciting moments of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer is the appearance of a blinged out Stormtrooper. Captain Phasma, or the Chrome Trooper, is played by Gwendoline Christie, Game of Thrones’ Brienne of Tarth. That means she’s gonna be a bad-ass! Ends Wednesday, May 6, at 10:24AM PST
Marvel Legends Hulkbuster Iron Man by ingencorp_custom_figures: Even if you haven’t seen Avengers: Age of Ultron, you know that the fight between the Hulk and a pumped-up Iron Man is one of the highlights of the movie. This custom just goes to show you what a little paint can accomplish – that’s a Titan Tech series Iron Man, if you can believe that! Ends Wednesday, May 6, at 8:04PM PST
Manny Pacquiao by lucharaaan: Despite being defeated by Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a unanimous decision, the Pac-Man still reigns as the popular champ. While I’ve seen some vinyl customs of the pair leading up to their fight, I haven’t seen any of Floyd since his win. Ends Saturday, May 9, at 7:53AM PST

Border Patrol: Marvel Legends Captain America (Sam Wilson), Swordsman, and Spider-Ham

With Avengers: Age of Ultron opening this week, I thought an Avengers-themed Border Patrol would be in order.

Marvel Legends All-New Captain America (Sam Wilson) by wingsstoke: There’s no telling how long Sam Wilson will be Captain America, the role he’s had in the Marvel universe since November last year – but we’ll see who wielding the shield at the end of Secret Wars starting this May. In any case, it feels inevitable that Steve Rogers will regain the Cap mantle, just as he did from Bucky, and just as Tony Stark did when Rhodey temporarily took over as Iron Man. But for the time being, Sam Wilson as Cap has brought a breath of fresh air to the role. Ends Sunday, May 3, at 12:16PM PST.
Marvel Legends Swordsman by JLA: Old school Avengers fans will recognize the Swordsman from back in the Silver Age. He followed the Hawkeye mold of villain turned Avenger – their backstories were intertwined. However, he never quite made the full face turn like Hawkeye did. You never were sure if he was going to go back to his evil ways, even up to his death (spoiler!) Ends Saturday, May 2, at 8:59AM PST.
Spider-Ham by dvil-eri: Is Peter Porker a spider with the limitations of a pig? Or a pig with the proportionate strength and agility of a spider? I suppose it doesn’t matter – Spider-Ham is too cool to have gone so long without a figure for your Legends shelf. While this custom doesn’t quite measure up in terms of Marvel Legends articulation, this founding member of the Scavengers is about the right size to fit in with the rest of your Spider-verse figures. Ends Wednesday at 2:23PM.
