SDCC 2012: Marvel Legends Uncanny X-Force 3-Pack – Must Have Exclusive

Uncanny-X-Force-group-1.jpg

Sure, I am a Marvel Legends fan, and I love me some Uncanny X-Force – but make no mistake – if you don’t get this exclusive 3-pack, either from Hasbro’s booth at San Diego Comic-Con or from HasbroToyShop.com after the show, you will be sorry.

Which Hulk Figure is the Strongest One There Is?

Face-Off-Hulk

I tried to like Angst Lee’s Hulk, and while the Incredible Hulk did a little better, it wasn’t until I saw the Avengers movie that I thought, at last – a Hulk truly worthy of the big screen. And now I’m in the market for a new Hulk figure that’s worthy of the Avengers movie’s Hulk. Funny how that works, right? Now, both Marvel Select and Hasbro have movie Hulks, and from what I’ve seen they both feature pretty good sculpts and pretty good articulation.

My de facto Hulk for the past few years has been the very awesome Marvel Legends Face-Off Hulk (pictured above). I really love the head sculpt (and I’m not necessarily looking for a Ruffalo Hulk) and the size is about right for what I’m looking for. On the downside, he doesn’t have any ab articulation, and the range of motion on his elbows is pretty limited. Given these thoughts, which Hulk would you recommend for me? Marvel Select Hulk or the Hasbro Hulk exclusive to Wal-Mart? Or is the Face Off Hulk still the strongest one there is?

Let me know what you think!

Try These Four Simple Tips for More Interesting Action Figures Pictures

Marvel Legends Icons Wolverine.jpg

Most of the pictures I take of my action figure collection are for reviews. For those types of pictures, one of the primary goals is to capture the figure as clearly as possible. That often means a generic composition, bright and even lighting, and a vanilla background. But when I’m taking pictures for fun, like if I just find something cool and want to capture it, or if I’m shooting something for a Best Of article, all that (boring) stuff can go out the window.

Here’s the four simple things I try to remind myself so I can take more interesting pictures.

Mystique, Dr. Doom, and Neo-Classic Armor Iron Man to Round out Marvel Legends Wave 3

Pre-orders at BigBadToyStore.com have revealed the remaining list of figures to be included in Hasbro’s (Return of) Marvel Legends wave 3. We’d previously seen USAgent, Danielle Moonstar, Blade and Punisher, and presume that X-Force Deadpool wills a re-deco of the 2-pack Deadpool figure.

From the listing, we know that Iron Man will be sporting his neo-classic armor, and Dr. Doom is, well, he’s Dr. Doom! So all that’s left to reveal is which version of Mystique we’ll be getting. I’m betting on the version shown above (panel art by Manuel Garcia), that Mike Mayhew immortalized on the covers of Mystique’s solo run. This version would allow re-use of the Black Widow body.

Oh, one more remaining item – who will be the build-a-figure for the wave? I figure we’ll find out at San Diego Comic-Con in a couple of weeks.
