Marvel Mighty Muggs Logan with Hulk and SDCC Exclusive Wolverine
If you had told me a few years ago that I’d be hunting for urban vinyl figures of Marvel characters, I’d probably have laughed. Urban vinyl is stuff that my wife likes – me, I like action figures! But here I am, taking pictures of the Marvel Mighty Muggs Logan. And yes, I’ve been hunting for this guy for a long time.
(Spider-Man) I'm too tall! (Magneto) I'm too short!
When I got Marvel Universe Secret Wars Series 2, Magneto was one of my wanted characters, so I was disappointed that Hasbro opted to use the Daredevil / Bullseye body from way back in the first series of Marvel Universe figures. That body is plagued by a really short torso, and any superhero-sized character will be too short when using it.
Luckily, Magneto has one feature that is going to make this really easy to fix – his big wide belt. Here’s how to do it.
Marvel Legends Icons are on sale and the Marvel Legends Dum Dum Dugan and Hand Ninja 2-pack is available again on ToysRUs.com. Dum Dum was available for less than a day about a week ago, but is back in stock.
The 2-pack is part of the “buy $75 or more and shipping is free” promotion, and there is a $5 off coupon code on the Toys R Us Facebook page. Happy shopping!
Marvel Universe Secret Wars Series 2 - Hulk, Cyclops, Spider-Woman, Iron Man, Magneto, and Spider-Man
If you have any doubt that Hasbro’s Marvel Universe line is doing well, you need look no further than the Secret Wars 2-packs. It’s a line extension in the first year of the Marvel Universe line, and it’s collector-oriented, tied in with the Secret Wars limited comic series that is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
While the series had a lot of reuse, I liked it a lot, since it brought us some unique characters that had never seen plastic before and some repaints in classic looks that were welcome.
Series 2 also features more reuse with Hulk, Iron Man, and Spider-Man in his symbiote suit – however this time it’s less welcome because the decos aren’t that distinguishing from their predecessors. Add some sloppy paint work and one particularly bad base body choice, and this series is knocked down a notch from what Hasbro achieved with the first.
